As a vegetarian who is also lactose intolerant, finding healthy food to eat is quite difficult while on vacation with a small budget. I was therefore delighted when I stumbled upon the Organic Deli Café when I visited Oxford. I had a vegetable, hummus, and falafel sandwich with a vanilla chai latte. As I cannot have milk, the server substituted regular milk with oat milk for the latte and it was perfect. The ingredients that were used for the sandwich were fresh and complimented each other perfectly, and the portions were very generous. My friend, who is not a vegetarian, was also very pleased with the range of options she had and absolutely loved her meal as well. The restaurant itself is quite quaint and comfortably set up, plus the staff is very helpful and friendly. I was pleased to learn that everything is free-range, organic, and fair-trade, and even the smallest details are paid attention to, like compostable sugar packets or organic soap in the bathroom.
