Our first visit to Oxford, and as we were meeting up with our friends from Sydney, we picked Tilbury Lodge based on TA comments. Our room was a good size, as was the bathroom. There were plenty of complimentary items in the bedroom and bathroom, from small cakes as a snack, to special hand soap in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and because we overlooked the back garden, noise was never a problem. I agree with many others that the breakfasts were first class. When booking I mentioned that my wife is a celiac – on arrival we were offered tea or coffee with cake and biscuits – my wife had a special plate of gluten free items just herself. At breakfast Stefan produced gluten free toast and muffins, as well as the regular items – a very nice gesture.
Stefan is full of information about getting around Oxford and places to visit. The local bus service stops a few minutes walk away from Tilbury Lodge, so you never feel isolated. Perhaps we will return to Oxford one day and if we do, we will have no hesitation in stopping at Tilbury Lodge again.

Room Tip: Over looking the back garden means peaceful sleeps.

We selected this b&b based on the tripadviser reviews, and as everyone else has pointed out. We, as them, were not disappointed. I won't repeat what everyone else has written, just to say that it is the lilttle touches that sets this b&b aside. Stefens years of experience certainly pays off. Everywhere is in easy reach either by bus (into Oxford) or by car (Blenheim, Stratford, etc). Thanks stefen for a lovely stay.

This bed and breakfast was amazing. It was only a short bus ride into Oxford and the bus station was just down the road. The owner takes hospitality seriously. They do everything to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are very clean and the beds were wonderful. The only thing I wish is that we had more time to stay. We looked through several bed and breakfasts in Oxford and Tillbury Lodge exceeded anything we saw. Save your time, stop searching and book the Tillbury Lodge.

Just returned from two nights with my other half.

Family were very welcoming from the start and throughout. Best welcome basket for fruit and goodies that I think I have even seen from a B&B and would put most 4-5 star hotels to shame.

Breakfast was excellent and produce of top quality.

We left the car at the B&B and made good use of the buses as was recommended to us. I would also definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to go into Oxford to sight-see or for food and drinks in the evening.

We would definitely stay here again next time we are visiting the area.

Tilbury Lodge is amazing, a stunning gem in a beautiful tranquil setting, part of us wants to tell all that it was awful to keep it to ourselves, but that would be extremely mean spirited as it deserves many accolades & more, from the warm welcome with tea & biscuits in the wonderful garden, to the accommodation which would put many 5 star hotels to shame. There are so many little extra touches from the pillow spray for a good nights sleep, which we didn’t need as we walked miles (thank goodness for the foot spa!) to the chocolate, fruit, fresh milk, marshmallows etc, well I could go on, this really is amazing, we will not stay anywhere else. Stefan is a charming man who wears the pinny & produces a good wholesome breakfast & little extras as well.

Really cannot recommend this B & B highly enough

Stayed here last weekend for 2 nights. We were extremely satisfied with the level of comfort offered in this B&B the bed was very comfortable which is vital to me as I have fairly severe back pain. The decoration of the rooms was very fresh and well presented. The shower head was a rain type and very refreshing, bath robes were provided as well as a few toiletries and of course the famous foot spa. The wifi was of a good speed and provided free all the little extras in the room were very welcome. Breakfast consisted of everything you could want continental and full English all extremely filling. The garden was lovely we enjoyed tea and cakes when we arrived and sitting out on Sunday evening enjoying a drink. We would recommend this B&B to everyone

Lost in Oxford, we looked up the internet and found Tilbury Lodge. We were welcomed with coffee and home made biscuits, the room was compact but comfortable and well equipped, the proprietor is a friendly and helpful giant and the breakfast was magnificent.
