Had some trouble finding the track. It's the first entrance into the Greyhound Stadium off Sandy Lane, but then you have to go right, around the side to find the two-floor hut housing the karting stuff.

Once in, we did a Stag event, Endurance in teams of three. Briefing was simple, staff were unfussy and happy to lend a hand and keep everyone safe during our session. Possibly, we were slightly rushed through at the start and end of the session, but at only £40 a head (which is the best I've seen for Karting) you can understand why it's a bit of a "maximise track time" enterprise.

The track itself is a bit bumpy, but this adds to the experience and there's a good mix of smooth and tight corners. Karts have got plenty of 'grunt', barriers and run-offs are forgiving, and the only thing you really have to worry about is someone else crashing into you!

i went there on the 12/09/10 and it was a absolutely brilliant day i did a endurence race with 29 other friends and the boss that runs it was verry friendly and kind and told us all the racing lines and we split up into teams and the we had a practise session first then a hours racing it was absolutely immense the track staff ( the marshalls ) looked smart and tidy and giving us tips for when we crashed and the best part of the day was that i beat all of my mates !!

After seeing the reviews on this site, and then voicing my concerns to the person who was organising our trip, we seriously considered not going to Karting Oxford. Then my friend went to Oxford for some other reason and went to look at the Karting centre to see what he thought, he came back saying that he thought it looked fine, that safety wasn't an issue and that the staff were friendly and helpful.

So the trip went ahead on Saturday 14th November, which was later forecast severe weather warnings across the country! So we brought towels and snorkels, but in the end we avoided the rain completely!. That isn't to say that the track wasn't wet, because it was and our speed was affected but it was still fun and in the practice laps the power sliding was beyond cool. You could power slide around the long corner and right into the straight! *Hint* don't do it in a real race as it will slow you down.

Also i had been karting recently before this trip and was determined not to be as rubbish as i was on that first time, so i did quite a lot of research into karting techniques. Guess what it paid off as i claimed a comprehensive victory!!!

*Hint* if it is wet and ur brakes have no grip, try manual ABS, stamp the break down hard and release then stamp again, in quick successions to shorten breaking distance significantly and out brake your opponents.

Sorry, so basically yeah it was very good, we had a 50 lap race with 4 laps of qualifying. We had also paid a bit extra to make sure that the six of us had track exclusivity.

Yes i would recommend to a friend and in fact it was so good that one of my mates that went is thinking of doing it again for his party!!

Btw, i am not saying that the negative reviews before this are wrong, just that i didn't have the same experience, hey maybe they have made improvements!?

i must admit the safety is an issue, i was there with a couple of mates and the 2 marshals where playing pretend cricket with one of the flags, when one of my mates were infront of me and the "batsman" took a swing and the stick seperated from the flag and flew into the track and missed my mates head by 10 intches. they pretended it never happened and carryed on.
