“And to think....”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

The planners of the late sixties and early seventies had considered resolving Oxford's traffic problems by pressing on with the development of a motorway through this undeveloped section of the town. However, sense prevailed and the gardens were retained for sport and recreation. The walk from St Aldate's to the river can take from twenty minutes to a full afternoon, depending upon company... A nice place to court a lady...

“If you like a leisurely stroll”

don't miss the Meadow, it is beautiful even in the rain and well worth the time if you visit the Oxford area. the best part is that you get to look at the back of the college which again is stunning

Christchurch meadow was a beautiful landscape which was perfect to show my visiting family who came to see me at university. The meadow is clean and is very accessible for all.

“For a quick walk in the centre of Oxford”
Reviewed December 9, 2012

Beautiful meadow behind Christ Church and Merton Colleges for a walk or picnic. Spot the deer and cows and go for a quick mile walk down to the river where you can see the college boathouses and round. Lovely views of the spire of Oxford.

“On a hot Summer's day. This is an absolute must.”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Just a stroll away from St Aldates where you can visit the wonderful Story Museum and Alice's shop. At St Aldates you cross the road into Christ Church Meadow. What an amazing sight to see and a fascinating fact to know that something so rare as a medow sits happily within this beautiful City of Oxford. Take a stroll along the river Isis and visit the last boat house. Alternativelyy take a picnic and enjoy the world go by.
