I have written 20 reviews all of them positive except this one. My friend and I go away together once a year. It is a special treat I have organised for the last 6 years. We have stayed in wonderful places, but not this time. It is my belief that if you have a problem you give the hotel/B&B a chance to put it right. I did mention the one very thin hand towel between two friends but the promised extra towel did not appear. There was no apology for there not being a wardrobe or chest of drawers, apparently three hangers on the wall with a fixed work top underneath should suffice for two ladies for three nights. We lived out of our suitcases and felt like the maids at the top of the house. This room was called a classic that is not the basic. When I asked what the difference was it appears that the basic has even more road noise! At over £100 a night with no shower gel or paper hankies this is not good value.
The breakfast was variable. The fruit salad is tinned, the toast basic. One morning the tiny egg was supported by half a tomato and one meagre slice of bacon. The next morning, presumably a different cook, provided a whole tomato, two rashers of bacon and the offer of two eggs as they were so small.
The bus to the centre was quick and frequent and Oxford was a brilliant place to visit, just don't stay at Parklands.
