Very conveniently sited hotel for the center of OXford - short bus ride into town.
Nice clean rooms. Beautiful restaurant (for breakfast only).

I stayed at the Galaxie whilst in Oxford for a birthday celebration. From the outset, I was very impressed by the quality of service provided. After sharing many emails with the hotel before my arrival, I was impressed that all of my wishes had been satisfied. I was given a large double bedroom at the rear of the hotel, which looked to have been refurbished recently. The breakfast at the hotel is a treat: not only is the food fantastic, but the large breakfast room is extremely welcoming. The staff are helpful and the hotel has few faults. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to stay in Oxford, either alone or as a family.

I stayed at the Galaxie a few weeks ago whilst on business. I was very impressed by the modern decor and service provided. The hotel is ideally located for Oxford, just a short walk to the city center. The location is also really good for Summertown, a charming place with several great restaurants. I would recommend the hotel to anyone!

We booked several rooms for hen weekend. Throughout booking process we have had excellent service and the hotel have managed to accommodate room number changes. Check in was quick and easy. Very laid back feel to the hotel. Our room was very clean and modern. Rooms were warm and ours even had a fridge and small kitchen area.
The breakfast was buffet style with a large choice and including hot food and continental.
Would highly recommend this to anyone wishing to stay in Oxford.

Room Tip: Rooms at back a little quieter as road quite noisy if windows open at the front.

We stayed here this weekend (sat 28th April 2012) - room 37!!! IT WAS FREEZING IN THE ROOM!!!!! there was only a small THIN blind up at the window and NO CURTAINS!!! therefore there was a draft in the room all night and I was FREEZING! I didnt sleep all night!!!! as soon as it was light I went to Reception and told the staff about it! they sent up a gentleman who couldnt speak English who played with the radiator and went. I told him (in broken sign language) that it wasnt the radiator as to why I was FREEZING it was the fact that there were no curtains up at the window!!!!
Upon checking out, they deducted £12 in total off he bill. I was tired and fed up and on my way to a Christening so wanted to put the sorry night behind me, accepted their pitiful discount and left.......if you stay here take warm socks, hat, jumper, leggins to sleep in!!! not to mention gloves too!!!!!

Very nice staff, friendly, and we got a clean and quiet room with a nice shower. Delicious breakfast with many selections from a buffet, coffee generously served at the table several times. Only thing was that the hotel was a bit off from the central city. But it is close to a bus stop and it was really not a problem getting in. Also close to a nice boathouse restaurant.

We visited Oxford as a family and had a double and twin room. Both rooms very (very) small, but with nice modern bathrooms. All clean and pleasant. Check in efficient - one of our rooms was available at 10.30am, so we could leave our luggage. Having parking is good, we could leave our car and walk downtown - about 25 minutes walk, but there is a bus stop outside. Having walked our feet off in Oxford it was good to come back to the hotel, have a rest and then not to have to walk very far - we ate out at Portabello Restaurant, which was pleasant. The hotel breakfast was fine, not terribly imaginative, but attentive staff. More selection of fruit would have been nice? We didn't use the garden - cool weather - but it looked well laid out with plenty of places to sit. Would stay again, good value for Oxford.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet, if you don't mind the sound of the garden waterfeatures.
