Owner description: Considered one of the oldest university buildings in the world, this is a superb example of Church Architecture from the 13th century.

Church is free to enter, but the tower is £3 or 4 to go up. Well worth it. View is sensational. Across Oxford with colleges, spires you can see into some of the grounds. Really nice.

We stumbled upon this place on a day out in Oxford. The lure of the cafe at the bottom drew us to it and that in itself was well worth it. (See separate review). The church is free to enter and look around and has a great atmosphere with the inscriptions of 17th century memorials and architecture. The view from the tower across Oxford was spectacular which you have to pay £4 (adult) & £3 (child). I thought that this was a little pricey considering the museums are free. The stairs are exceptionally narrow and steep and there is little room to pass. Once at the top you can only go 3/4 way round then return the war you came. This means that there is soon a blockage of people trying to get up and down and you can't really spend any amount of time there. We went on a Tuesday outside of any main holiday period so I can't imagine it at peek periods!

The cloistered ceiling and ambience this is one of the oldest meeting places in Oxford, the food is always good and the drinks are good also it's very reasonably priced, the staff are all students and very competent.

The views from the top of the tower are excellent. The church is situated on the High Street amongst some of Oxfords most interesting architectural delights. The views from the top of Exeter, Brasenose, Bodleian are great. Well worth the 15min wait when we went on what was probably a busy Saturday afternoon. There isnt much space on the stairs or at the top and its tricky to negotiate a pass on the stairs if you happen to meet someone. A system whereby groups go up and down together would seem to me to be safer and a better way but i guess this wouldnt work because surely with the intelligence of the people at Oxford University someone would have already thought of this?!

Well worth a visit!

it's for free to enter the beautiful gothic church. and then there is 3 or 4 gbp fee to enter 300 smth step to the top of the tower. there is very pleasant young men selling tickets, that also give great lunch/dinner suggestions. there is very limited space upstairs, so when in groups, you must be careful to have place to let other people in/out. but the view from the top is just magnificent!
