If visiting Oxford this is a must
The building itself is stunning and the exhibitions educative and interesting
A fantastic job has been done in restoring this museum
So much to see one visit is not enough

“Really good experience”
Reviewed March 16, 2013

I went with a group of students, the museum was so interesting that we wandered around for over 2 and a half hours without seeing it all. There is something for everyone here. The students enjoyed the coin hoards, the mummies, the Japanese swords, the paintings by Picasso and his contemporaries and many other items.

“Fine Food. Lovely Place”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

First to the café downstairs rather tucked away but what a lovely room with the shop at the top end of the room. Food was great, coffee divine in a totally relaxed atmosphere at a good price.

Same relates to the dining experience just great Book and look out for many notables who dine there.

A special mention for the Ashmolean front of house chaps. They are a most helpful and kindly folk who can really enrich your visits with tips and advice.

Will definitely be back.

“ancient art and artifacts all elegantly lit and displayed”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

And after you have consumed the visual delights of art and artifacts, old and newer, don't miss the restaurant on the top floor, overlooking the city through great glass windows. A short but tempting menu, European flavours and staff. A great day out all round.
