Nice family room with a smallish bathroom, which was too outdated. No mixer in the sink and one has to deal with separate hot and cold water supply. Trust me it can be vary annoying. Rooms are decent but traffic noise irritates. Must mention the in-room tea, coffee and biscuit selection was impressive and the complimentary bottled water much appreciated.

Maria who worked in the day at the reception was very helpful. Located near the train station but not very close to hot spots.

Room was clean and tidy. Not huge but not cramped. Got a cheap deal as I booked on the same day. Not sure I'd have been so happy if I'd paid more than £100, but for £80 it was good value. They provided lots of free biscuits and fruit in the room which was great after a night out!

Location was good - close to the main station.

Downside was it was a bit noisy as it is on a main road, so a light sleeper might be disturbed.

I stayed in a twin room with a friend in June 2011 as part of a party of eight spending the day and evening in Oxford on a social visit. The location of the hotel is excellent but you certainly pay for it. We paid £153 for a twin room with breakfast and £30 to park in the nearest car park for one night. At a combined cost of £183 for one night we concluded that it would have been better to stay further out of Oxford and to taxi in as needed, which doubtless would have meant a more luxurious stay and a lower overall price.

The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and is what would be expected from a three star rating. The twin room was small (around 5 single beds equivalent in size) and the bathroom was also small - bath size and standing room only! The room did have air conditioning which was welcome but overall the room was nothing special.

For breakfast in the morning you have to collect a voucher from reception and then take that 'next door' to the restaurant which feels as though it is an independent concern. The lady on reception had to unlock the door for us to get in to the breakfast room and then the voucher is handed to the staff who will cook a huge all day breakfast for you or offer toast and croissants etc. I was disappointed not to be advised until we paid to check out that the breakfast was £11 per head on top of the cost of the room - there is not an all inclusive price. The toast that I had with coffee was very expensive!

Overall, the hotel is clean and comfortable and is a good base for Oxford. However, do not expect anything beyond three star.

Stayed for two nights on a break in Oxford. The hotel is just around the corner from the station and a short walk from the centre of Oxford. The staff in reception were very polite and helpful and always had a smile.
We stayed in a triple room, it was large and the beds were very comfortable. The room was clean as was the bathroom.
If you order breakfast through the hotel they charge £11.95 but you can just go into the restaurant and order a full breakfast for £4.95 plus tea/coffee extra which was excellent!
We ate one night in the Thai restaurant near the hotel and the other night at Jamie's in the centre of town, both are worth a visit as the meals were great!
The walking tour of the University and City which is booked at the Tourist Information is well worth doing, the guide was very imformative and you learn lots!!
All in all we had a great break and would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very close to the train station and a 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Oxford.
The staff were very cheerful and helpful.
The room was a good size and the complimentary water and fruit was much appreciated.
I would definitely consider staying here again.
