“A* service!”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

We stayed here for my birthday and cannot praise the hotel, its staff and the food enough. The breakfast in particular was brilliant. The room was quiet, stylish and spotlessly clean. The location second to none. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you!

This Hotel has plenty going for it and would be a 4* ranking, but our room was on the small side, with limited storage for clothes and was far too hot! It would have been poor for someone staying more than one night due to lack of space. We turned the radiator off, opened the window, on a very cold night, but still it was far too hot. They could save £££ on their energy bills.

The location is good. The service was very good. Breakfast was OK - not stand out. The bikes you can use are a real plus point - we enjoyed cycling around the City. But for £150+ you expect to sleep and that was hard in all that heat. We were at a big party and friends staying at The Randolph were not happy with it, so maybe this is the best choice.

I was really excited to visit Oxford to deliver my seminars on business and wanted to experience all the dreaming spires had to offer. I must say The Old Bank Hotel really did help this and made my experience of Oxford so fantastic. The grilled turkey on the menu was absolutely divine! The reception and door staff were so friendly, they really made me feel at home! Good job Old Bank, keep it up!

Room Tip: The big flash rooms near reception!

I stayed here for one night on business in Oxfordshire and it was fantastic. Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for me.

The Car park at the back of the hotel is a real bonus and rare in Oxford.

The room and en suite were beautifully decorated and clean. I felt right at home.

I arrived late so used room service for dinner. The food was great and arrived quickly. I had an early start so had to arrange breakfast in the room ahead of the start of the main breakfast menu at 7am. The staff sorted out a breakfast tray for me including cereal, toast and a croissant, juice and tea....perfect!

This really is a fabulous hotel who should be proud of their staff...nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend to any type of traveller and its great value for money.

Lovely hotel, the staff truly make it. Genuine care over your stay. Great bar - amazing cocktails! An overnight stay with no children, nice room. Great location. Did eat in the partner Gees restaurant, beautiful building, good staff, fairly average food really which was a bit of a shame wouldn't choose to eat there again. Would definitely stay in the hotel again though.

The Old Bank Hotel, situated in the heart of town on High Street, is all that you'd expect from a hotel in historic Oxford. The rooms are very well-kept and have all the amenities, including plenty of power outlets! Staff are incredibly helpful, and gave us a virtual walk-through of Oxford on a tourist map when we checked in. The breakfast buffet is very well-appointed, and the jazz band in the evening was a wonderful treat. Wi-fi in all the rooms, too.

Wow. We had a wonderful time at the old bank house. The room was splendid, we stayed in no. 32, a suite and it was simply gorgeous. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were wonderful but a very big thank you to jack on reception who was a joy to deal with and a credit to the hotel. He really took the time to do everything for us. Can't thank him enough. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back!
