“its ok”
Reviewed April 3, 2013

after reading recent reviews i thought this hotel sounded good if a little expensive. thus i stayed for a night instead of my normal holiday inn express.
Mistake !!!
room ok, customer care efficiant but robotic, breakfast buffet soggy bacon, rubber eggs etc
hotel dated. luckily was on my own, if i had brought wife and kids here for a break would have been very disapointed and embarrished, not sure if management was present, appeared to be a arrogant female supervisor thowing her weight arround, which did not make any difference.
i ve stayed in 5+ star hotels and seaside b and bs this hotel rates at best a good seaside b and b

Room Tip: use holiday inn express

There was no soap or shower gel in the room which to discover at midnight as about to step in the shower after a long journey is not helpful. They do have it behind the desk, but you have to ask. This is just horrible. Isn't soap is a basic for a hotel? This was a first for me and I travel a lot across the hotel spectrum. At £100 for room and breakfast this was poor value, even for Oxford where hotel prices are high. At breakfast they started noisily clearing plates well before breakfast finished, people who came down 20 mins before breakfast ended at 10.10 had to ask for food. The coffee ran out. The fruit salad was empty by 9.30 and not replaced.

Found this hotel on here, with a few mixed reviews, but decided to book any way and what a lovely place, really quiet, even though they were having renovation work done, (supposedly although we never heard a thing, just a strong smell of fresh paint) all of the staff that we dealt with very fantastic, very polite and efficent nothing was to much trouble, we did eat here apart from Breakfast, which was great, I really liked the sausages, not your normal bland breakfast, everything was piping hot and freshly cooked and there was plenty of it. The rooms were spacious and really clean and fresh, plenty of amenities no matter the length of your stay. They seem to have done a very good job of keeping the charater off the building, the only issue is that some of the stairs are a bit narrow, which makes it trickey to get suitcases up to your room, and the lay out was a bit like Hogwarts, the stais seemed to take you to a diffrent place each time you used them, but that could be my rubbish sence of direction!!! all in all very plesant stay would deffinatley stay again if back in Oxford

I wasn't too impressed with this hotel, quite expensive for what you got and even the executive room was decidedly average for the price. It's about a 10 - 15 min walk to the town centre and about 5 mins from Summertown shops etc. The rooms were clean and the staff were very nice though.

Stayed at Linton Lodge for 2nights for a visit to Oxford. The hotel is idealy situated just a 20min walk into City Centre. The hotel is clean and staff are very helpful. Reasonably priced with a good breakfast. Tip - buy a city tour ticket as stop 16 is just a 5 min walk from the Hotel. We were thei for 3 days and with a 48 hr ticket we saved on bus fares( £3 single )

Room Tip: Ground floor.

I arranged a carol Concert to be held on 20/12/12 with the general manager Susanne Bange.who
I found to be most helpful, pleasant & professional. I was contacted a month before the event by
Vasiliki for final arrangements who was also very pleasant & helpful.
Approximately 80 people attended on the evening. The service was excellent,The food was served
efficiently & was piping hot & not only that it was also delicious. Congratulations to the chef.
Will definitely be returning.
