Small but characterful pub with tasty and reasonably priced food, some home-made. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of real ales.

Lovely pub, good selection of beers, friendly staff, great atmosphere. However, I felt some aspects of the food let it down significantly. My game Pie had a delicious filling, but had clearly been microwaved (possibly for too long) and the pastry was ruined. Also the gravy was clearly an "instant" gravy made with some powder and boiling water. This did let down what would otherwise have been a lovely visit. I have eaten better food for the same money inn other atmospheric Oxford venues.

We decided to eat at the White Horse because of the traditional looks. This pub was nice and cosy inside and had friendly service. It was on a weekday night and nearly every table was taken and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We had sausages and mash which was very good. The beer was great and there was a good vibe to the place. I found the pubs in Oxford to be some of the best pubs of our trip.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable prices, good pub food. Seems to specialise in crickes on the televisions, but they are not obtrusive! Can't fault it

We stopped off here for a little lunch. The first thing that put me off were the toilets. They smelt, or damp and needed updating and a cleaning.

Dispite this we ordered lunch. This came quickly.. To quickly, we realised that it had been cooked previously and was waiting to be served.

This is a great building inside, and could be so much more. Shame really.
