“One of my favorite Oxford pubs”
Review of The Royal Blenheim

The Royal Blenheim
Ranked #118 of 679 Restaurants in Oxford
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: $7 - $17
Cuisines: British
Description: We are a traditional street corner pub from the Victorian era. Inside we have 10 handpulls serving a wide range of well kept local and regional beers, including the White Horse Brewery (Oxfordshire) for which the Royal Blenheim is the brewery tap - the only one of its kind in the city Oxford. With BT Sport available on up to four screens we will be showing a variety of sports with a focus on rugby...possibly the best place in Oxford for a rugger get together! We have a Facebook page which we would encourage you to 'like' as that is one of the best ways of staying up to date on what we have going on here. We believe in making and cooking proper homemade food with a focus on fresh ingredients, mostly sourced from the Covered Market and other local suppliers. Our menus will be seasonal with an aim to use 'in season' ingredients to create simple yet wholesome dishes. As well as a weekly Wednesday Quiz Night (come early to get a a table) we hope to stage regular Open Mic nights as a showcase for local musicians of all styles and levels...If that's you please get in touch with us, thanks.

I am an American visiting Oxford for a three-week study program and this pub turned out to be one of my favorite. It is only a block off a main strip but well worth seeking out if you are looking for a real neighborhood, local experience.
Service was friendly and helpful, there always seemed to be cricket or darts playing on TV and there was a good selection of ales & bitters. They serve food but I didn't try any.

Nice locals pub we discovered while being tourists! It was recommend to us by an ex-member of staff who now works in another bar.

Rugby on the TV and makes it quite clear they don't allow football which is a nice change.

Good selection of board games and my partner and I quite enjoyed our game of Doctor Who Top Trumps (I won!)

Apparently there is supposed to be a list of Chuck Norris facts in the men's toilets, however I have it on good authority from my partner that at this moment in time it has been removed again.

Highly recommend if you like your rugby and you like your ales!

We dropped in because our daughter and friends go there as Oxford students. I was thereafter greeted on first and subsequent visits as "XX's dad" by the gregarious bar tender. It is a city pub adorned by photos of Pembroke college teams. The food is pub food, but tasty and of excellent value. Tourists are almost absent: we tried the Turf (where I used to go as a student years ago) but were beaten back by the throngs, so the Royal Blenheim was a quiet oasis by comparison. Only one block off of a main thoroughfare it could be another planet. A good place for student watching, good food and good beer or cider (and of course football or rugby on the screens, but they did not overwhelm).
