Our tour guide was a pleasant woman who unfortunately could not speak loudly and clearly enough to be heard. She was also exceptionally dull. She thought that a barrage of meaningless statistics and dates made for an interesting tour. It does not. She had no anecdotes to bring the city's history to life. Plus, most annoyingly, all but one of the Oxford colleges were closed to visitors so we were forced to stand around in the hot street listening to her babble on about things we did not get to see. The tour company must have known in advance the colleges would be closed on this day for graduation ceremonies. It should have advised me of this when I booked or offered a reduced price for the reduced tour.
Thank you for taking the time to write your review and I am sorry to hear that your tour was not to your satisfaction.
May I ask how long was your tour for and when did you join this tour (date & time) as we work with over 40 guides and I would like to forward your review to the appropriate one.
Regarding access to colleges, please note that colleges are private properties and can close without any previous warning and for different reasons although on Degree Days some colleges close their doors to visitors but we do not necesarily know in advance, which ones or how many of them will be closed.
I look forward to hearing from you.
