“Nice food, good staff but poor atmosphere”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Food was fine and that's why we went
The staff were nice and considerate
But the atmosphere did not help us to enjoy the experience - the lighting was wrong the situation is on a busy street, and this let the restaurant down

“Beautiful food!”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

The service had a slight "I'm just doing this job in between classes" feel, but hey, it's oxford! They were friendly though, which made up for any teeny faults.
The food is delicious! My friend and I started by sharing the plate of artisan breads and they were fresh and very more-ish!
I had the yellowfin tuna salad, which is served very pink with a tasty mustard dressing and lovely colourful salad on top. Very tasty and the tuna was a great cut.
My friend had the pasta Nero which had great flavour and lovely fresh mussels in the shell. Just wish I could have had everything on the menu!

“poor food almost saved by great staff”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Five of us went to Jamie's Italian Oxford last week for lunch. We all had the lunch specials, three of us were quite disappointed. The pasta was a very small portion and none of the dished were very flavorful. When we mentioned the size of the pasta portion to our waitress, she was very apologetic and brought another portion. I feel the staff really tried to look after us but the food was very disappointing, which is a shame as I would have expected better from a Jamie Oliver restaurant.

“Nice food and good service”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

The restaurant is firstly nicely decorated. Big legs of ham on the walls and nice little touches as well. The food variety was good, good menu and the service was also friendly and professional. The food was really delicious and I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone in Oxf. looking for a relatively quick and good food meal.

“Very disappointing”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

Having been to Jamie's Italian many times a few years back when it first opened I was extremely disappointed when we went last night. We were in the far corner and were served by an Italian man with poor English, he offered us specials even though we said we knew what we wanted to order. In hearing so we decided to change our starter to the nachos special...15 minutes later we get given a plate of what looked a tasted like stale bread sticks and were told that they had "run out of nachos". Being insulted with whatever they had given us we put it on the edge of the table to make a complaint...over half an hour passed and our waiter hadn't been seen once and no one had collected our starters. My partner went to the bar to order more drinks which the lovely and only professional member of staff ensured us that our waiter should take drinks orders and promptly brought them over. A blonde lady came straight over and collected our starter apologising and promised to take the 'nachos' off our bill which we were fine about. After nearly an hour after arriving we finally got our mains, as we booked late the majority of the restaurant has left/ was leaving and we just felt awkward and rushed to finish. The chef clearly couldn't be bothered we had the spaghetti bolognaise which tasted and looked like a ready meal and the carbonara which was dry however we were starving so ate as much as we could. The nachos weren't taken off the bill causing more complaining and further waiting. We won't be returning any time soon. May I also suggest the lady behind the bar should be managing in the restaurant as we don't think we would of ever got our mains without her finding our waiter and having words with him.
