Reviewed November 7, 2012 via mobile

I've been here on a few occasions everytime its been very average and for the price it should be more. the last time I went the person I was, with had to send their steak back as it was very over done, the service is slow as well and,I don't like the queing in the street waiting to be seated thing!

“Distinctly average”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We were all very much looking forward to a meal at Jamie's Italian for a small works Christmas lunch. However, the food was distinctly average, very bland and nothing at all special. I wouldn't be happy to serve it up myself. We all left feeling a little disappointed. I returned with my husband to try again, which unfortunately only confounded our thoughts. On complaining about the poorly cooked crab my husband received, we were offered an apology and a refund on that course, which was good service, but we have preferred a decent meal in the first place.

“a real treat”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

what can i say., it was a wonderful treat. the only thing it was very busy and we went outside the usual eating times, we had to sit and wait for 15mins at the bar, service was a little slow as well, but worth waiting for. the food was fresh and very good. loved it.

“Very busy at Jamies”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

May be because we were a party of 12 but we did not receive very good service for the money that you pay. Food was ok but not celeb chef standard. Great atmosphere, bustling, busy but not really relaxing fine dining expirience.

“Sunday lunch”
Reviewed November 4, 2012

We had a very nice meal today at Jamie's Italian in Oxford. We asked our waiter what dishes did not have garlic in, as one of us is allergic to it, his reply was that almost all main courses did have. He said he would speak to the chef, he returned a couple of minutes later with a menu, with all of the dishes that could be cooked without garlic ticked, for us to choose. We ordered a very nice bread selection with dipping oil and balsamic vinegar. For main course we had the chicken and a sirloin steak with side orders of asparagus and polenta chips, followed by a tiramisu and a cherry Bakewell tart. The portions were surprisingly generous and delicious. We had a large bottle of water and a glass of lovely sparkling rose wine, the bill came to £60,which we thought was good value , we will be visiting other branches.
