“Interesting Piece of History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

I've driven by the signs to this literally hundreds of times...but finally I decided to stop and see what it was.

I was really glad that I did, this is a really interesting piece and a lovely spot to stop and have a rest. I parked across the road at the village hall and took a walk through the Cherry Orchard.

Pamphlets are available which describe the history of the well and how it came to be.

It's very small, and you probably would spent more than 30 minutes to an hour there, but the well is in good repair and the garden is nice.

A nice quiet hidden gem.

“A piece of India in Rural England”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

If you're an India-phile, then well worth a detour. Even if you're not, still worth a detour. It's a very romantic setting and makes you think about how different rural life would have been back then - and also how unusual it strikes one to have 'aid' being given by India to the British poor.

“Stop and look if your passing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

Worth a quick look and maybe a photo or two.

Wouldn't detour far to see it but if you are passing make the effort to stop and stretch your legs for 5 minutes

“A wasted journey”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2012

There's nothing of any interest there, please don't go out of your way to visit this, and even if you are passing by, it's not worth it.
