We dined here with other members of our family for Sunday lunch. We were seated in the main part of the pub on a long table. The staff were very attentive and provided a good service throughout our lengthy stay. The menu whilst not being comprehensive provided enough choice for our needs. There was also a nice selection on the specials board.
The majority of us went for the specials and had the Cauliflower soup for starters followed by the roast lamb. The soup was very nice, with a lovely wedge of brown bread to accompany it. The lamb was well presented with roast potatoes, a variety of veg, lamb stuffing and ample meat. Again, it was very nice even if I would have preferred my meat cut to be a bit thicker.
We concluded the meal with a rather sparse and unexciting cheese board, so as Meatloaf would have said "Two out of three ain't bad". All this was washed down with a bottle or three of a very nice Chilean Merlot.
In conclusion, we spent a very enjoyable 4 hours in the company of the Little Angel. The majority of staff were good and it is always nice to have a bit of banter. When next in the area will certainly call in again.
