Bank holiday monday, crowds of people along the river, lovely sun and all crying out for a nice pint and a good lunch- sadly not to be delivered this time round. The Angel, historically, has been a great place to drink and eat, but it seems to have given in to the demands of the crowds and reduced its standards accordingly. What a shame! The open sandwiches were decidedly average, the bread being now where near thick enough or the slices large enough, the roast vegetables and feta cheese filling was more lettuce than vegetables and the feta could just about be located, the prawn fillings were drowned in dressing and the fish cake seemed a little lacking in fish, and considering the henley prices, definitely not good value for money.
