Hands off-hosting on behalf of Anna and her family; Hazelnut is small (essentially a studio bungalow/barn conversion, with a removable divider to separate the kitchen area), but well-equipped, and extremely cosy. The kitchen has all you need; big fridge, hob, microwave, toaster, oven/grill, and all utensils. The place was immaculately clean when we arrived. The location is stunning; set between Banbury and Chipping Norton, your windows look out onto grazing sheep, a sharp, grassy knoll, a large pond, and the endless Oxfordshire countryside. Swerford, Hook Norton, and Wigginton are all a pleasant stroll away for exploration. At night, relax by the log-fire, and stock-up when you're low from the log-store, free of additional charge. The bed was large and comfortable. Chipping Norton is a ten minute drive away and has it's own charm, and is handy for groceries, restaurants, and supplies. The rental cottages share a large patio area with numerous wooden tables and chairs as well as a fish-pond, so you're able to chat with other visitors if you wish, or just play scrabble with a glass of wine in the sun. We stayed for three-nights. If we'd stayed longer, I'd advise booking/planning some activities ahead of time, such as horse-riding, or hiking. But for a last minute short getaway, this really couldn't have been more perfect, and it didn't break the bank.
