Found this place on the Good Pub Guide. All appeared ok till we were served our sandwiches with a side of slimy rotten cucumber and rotten beetroot, with mould growing on the beetroot. I then see that they have scored 2 on Scores on the Doors. Grim.

What a joke of a place. It’s useless, overpriced and dirty. Pool, or should I call it puddle was unclean. Gym???... Overpriced on everything. If this place was not in the Cotswolds it would be empty every day. The room was freezing with lumpy beds and pillows must be 10 years old. It says it all when you are given remote control at check in. They are that desperate.
I travel all week as a sales person nationwide and can say it’s in my top 10 worst.
Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Room tip: Don’t bother

Well staff we all very nice, and helpful.
Rooms a good size but in need of modernisation
TV had only a few channels it would pick up
Were charged extra on arrival for having a dog, even though it was declared on the booking and hotel said it was pet friendly. No dog treats on bar, so only facility for animals was a bowl of water, and they are only allowed in bar and restaurant out of key hours.
Pool was warm, but jet stream system advertised was not working so good just for playing with children.
Food was sensibly priced and breakfast was ok

The pool is tiny no good for swimming in.
No TV signal reception on the first night. Very poor signal reception after staff fixing on the second night.
The room (#6) was OK but it could of done with a bit of dusting; however good value for the money.
Breakfast was very good and plentiful
Fish and chips served in the bar was also very good
All staff were very good mannered, helpful and attentive.
I would certainly consider staying at this hotel again.

Room tip: There are no elevators/lifts you have to use the stairs to 1st, 2nd and third floor in the main build and carry your own luggage .

I really can’t recommend this hotel. The carpets in the corridors have obvious rips. The furnishings were in a room were cheap 1980s pine, with scuffed varnish and water stains. The window frame had obvious rot which had been badly fixed and the bathroom again looked as if it had last been refurbished in the 80s.
Breakfast was poor – there were boxes of generic cereals which looked like the cheapest available from the cash-and-carry. Tinned grapefruit segments and prunes looked as if they had been there for more than a day and a coffee came from in that it been stewing for a long time. The bacon and eggs were good but the sausages and other cooked items were pretty tasteless.

This will be pretty poor in a B&B in a random seaside resort but find that one is paying big-city prices is unacceptable.
