Reviewed May 15, 2013

My wife and I had the most marvelous lunch on 14th May.Everything was 1st class, from the bread(s) right through 3 delicious courses. The cooking is really classy and the menu offers a good range for all palates....such skill from the kitchen with fresh, top quality ingredients combine to produce memorable food. The staff, too, were charming, especially Michelle who looked after us so well.
All the rave revues for this restaurant are so well deserved.

“Small restaurant delivering good food and personal service”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Wild Thyme is a small unpretentious restaurant in a lovely town. The food is excellent and different from the norm and we were made to feel very welcome. Because it is quite small they are able to provide personal service. We were there mid-week and there were plenty of other diners which suggests its popularity is high. This is a good place for an occasional visit as it is pricey - but well worth it.

“Intimate and delightful”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

A charming and intimate restaurant. The service was fantastic, and the food was mouthwatering, especially the original pudding options.

My advise would be to book a table in advance as this restaurant is, unsurprisingly popular, and also to book a taxi in advance if travelling via taxi from nearby villages as they are few and far between.

“Imaginative well cooked food, thoughtful service and good wine list”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

An imaginative menu Fresh well cooked ingredients, generous portions, attentive service and excellent wine list - we had a stunning red from Chile - I have just ordered a case.

Only criticism is the generous monkfish tails were much too salty, but this had just been introduced as a dish and the owner said she would refer this back to the chef straight away.

“A lucky break”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

We wished we were restaurant critics, so that we could do justice to the Wild Thyme. If you can get to Chippy, go there – but be warned, you’ll be lucky to get in unless you book. We stayed overnight last Saturday – we were lucky to get the room, everywhere else was full.
As was the restaurant. When we arrived, Nick advised us on other places we could try in town for a meal. Then as we were unpacking he came to tell us there’d been a cancellation, a table for two and would we like to eat there later. Clearly the gods were smiling on us.
The food was brilliant, a triumph of culinary delight and great value. Our room was clean and homely. Overall a great break, thankyou Nick and Sally, we’ll be back!
