Loved it!

This little B&B is done with so much love and care: from tea spoons to curtains and bedding - every detail is beautiful and carefully thought-through. Our twin double room in the barn was beautiful and had all useful little essentials (toiletries, tea/coffee, hairdryer). The breakfast was delicious and elegantly served. We were offered fresh fruit and berries, premium organic yogurts and muesli, and a choice of omelette /full English/ poached or scrambled eggs. The full English was spot-on - delicious yet not greasy. My smoked haddock and poached egg were cooked to perfection, and there was a choice of brown or white toast. Common areas of this B&B deserve a separate mention: there is a lovely little garden with a koi pond and a little fountain. We utterly enjoyed our one night stay here. The couple who run the B&A are very nice, though the lady of the house seems more stressed than welcoming. one area for improvement.

The location is very convenient for visiting Blenheim, Woodstock, and Oxford.

We stayed here for one night when the Cornbury Festival was on and were really impressed with the high standard of the rooms and service, as well as the great value for money.

I have stayed in a few hotels recently which could learn a thing or two from the Swan Lodge!

Highly recommended.

This was our second visit to Swan Lodge. We enjoyed our first stay so much that my wife decided to take her aged mother down to visit Oxford for a weekend.
For both of our stays, we were in ‘the barn’, a lovely building round the back of the main house beyond the well cared for garden. We stayed in the downstairs room on our first stay, which had a separate lounge with TV. For our second trip we were put in the two upstairs rooms, both of which are well appointed and kept beautifully clean; the pillows were the most comfortable we’ve ever used. Both rooms had full sized baths with plenty of hot water.
Food: - the most important thing for my mother-in-law...
Breakfast was first-rate, and is served from 8:30 at weekends, in a lovely well appointed breakfast room. There was plenty to choose from: fruit, yogurts, cereals, full English and other hot options.
We had our first evening meal in ‘The Crown’, which is a pleasant ten minute walk away in Church Enstone. For our second night we drove to ‘The Chequers’ in Churchill as recommended by the owner Mrs Drake (Margret). Both places were very friendly and the food & beer were excellent and at a reasonable price.
We visited Oxford for the day, and used the Pear Tree Park & Ride. Cars are parked free and the fares were very reasonable, the mother-in-law was free with her senior citizens bus pass (with the hologram). I had previously seen reviews about parking in Oxford. Busy, limited and very expensive, hence the Park and Ride. Really enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bath if you prefer one.

I spent two nights here in mid May because it wasn't far from a hotel complex site where I had some business to attend to. Margaret & Phil Drake are excellent hosts & couldn't have been more helpful (I was offered a couple of lifts to help reduce my taxi fares). I stayed in the barn conversion part of the building at the top of the drive, the room was spacious & spotless. There are lovely surrounding gardens & there's a tranquil fish pond and water feature behind the kitchen. If you've no car don't worry, the bus fare from Oxford station (approx 15 miles) is only £3.60 and the stop is only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. There's a nice pub just 5 minutes away too.

Room Tip: If you need internet, ask for a house room

If you are restricted for time a word of caution, the lady who runs this place will talk your ear off. That said they are a delightful couple running the place, it is immaculately clean, breakfast was excellent, rooms very comfortable. It is an old tudor style building with exposed beams everywhere. Very romantic for a weekend in the Cotswolds.

If you are in the neighbourhood, check out the Falklands Arms Hotel in Great Tew for a beer and or a cheap meal.

Arrived at Swan Lodge, very pleasantly surprised and more impressed when we saw the room. A very warm welcome from the owners, lovely people. Very large room with twin beds and sofa bed for our son which was also very comfortable. En suite only had a shower connected to the bath taps but never mind, never have time to have a soak in a bath so was great! Spotlessly clean, magazines provided in the room too. Lounge area with massive fireplace which would be beautiful in the winter. Superb brekfast made to order, fresh fruit and cereals also on offer. Lovely setting, close to cotswold villages, well worth a drive to Bourton on the Water about half hour away, Chipping Norton worth a visit too. Great place to stay for exploring the area. Hopefully will stay there again. Highly recommended.

We stayed here just before our wedding so the location was perfect for us, its near a couple of good local pubs. When we arrived we received a very warm welcome and again at breakfast where we had a great chat with the lovely couple who own the B&B The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. The room was large very comfortable and clean and the B&B has a very pretty garden. Value for money for the area but not the cheapest B&B we have stayed in, however would definitely stay here again.
