We stayed at The Bull for a 3-day walking holiday. We were most impressed by the friendly welcome, the eagerness to please and the efficiency of the staff. The food was excellent and there was a high degree of comfort and cleanliness. Excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Some traffic noise at the front of the hotel, but not really a nuisance

Went to the Bull in Burford after a litte day trip from London and didnt expect to eat so well, it equaled anything you would find in London for quality and reasonable prices too. Our food was beautifully presented and delicious, finished off with Port Cheese and coffee and left very happy. The staff were brilliant too and would love to go back to stay there next time.

We stayed at The Bull at Burford because our friends were getting married nearby. The whole hotel was full of the wedding guests.
The staff were very friendly and helpful - including showing us to our room and always acknowledging us in a friendly manner.
The Hotel itself is very quaint and suits the area. The room was lovely and quirky, with steps leading to the bathroom. Just enough space for the two of us to get ready on the morning of the wedding. It was also clean and had lovely products to use.
We had a meal the night before the wedding and it was delicious! The waiting staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the food and wine. The food was to die for. they also gave us a complimentary champagne cocktail, which was very tasty - but very, very strong! :)
The breakfasts were also of a high standard just like the rest of the hotel.

stayed two nights, hottest week for years and cannot fault the place.room was fine bed was comfortable had two breakfasts and an evening meal and the food was excellant.was not sure weather to eat the food or take a picture of it ,it was a shame to eat it!homemade bread was delicious .tea, coffee, bottled water in the room, all the toiletries and more were there which you would expect .its situated along the high street so the location is perfect .but the biggest plus is the friendliness of the staff who all like to talk and are very approachable that is from the owner and ALL the staff. we had to dine in a small dining room next to the main restaurant because we had two small dogs and were not allowed n the main dining area which we respected, but the owner and manager kept popping in for a chat which we appreciated

Have to mention the staff at The Bull. Turned up without a reservation on a Saturday evening. On enquiring it was politely explained that you need to make a reservation for most hotels in the Cotwolds on a Saturday evening.

However the gentleman on the desk then rang around several hotels in the area to see if anywhere else could accommodate us. Unfortunately all were full but this level of customer service goes well above the norm. Most place would advise "full" and then let you spend an hour going around the village yourself!

Thank you to the staff at The Bull - we will try to be better organised next time!

We've just returned from a two night stay at the Bull whilst attending a wedding at another venue within Burford. I have to agree with the majority of reviews left by previous people.
The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The Room we stayed in No.6 (The Trafalgar room) was very traditional. The furniture was in keeping with the setting and surroundings. The staff were more than helpful in every way.

The restaurant was also fantastic. everything was perfect, down to the home made bread. We had breakfast both mornings, which was fantastic. The home made Sticky Muesli was to die for!!!! followed by the cooked breakfast..........

We also celebrated my Birthday in the restaurant. My choice included the Crayfish starter, Monk fish main and the Lemon tart desert. My wife chose the Scallops for starter followed by the Stone Bass fillet(yes Stone Bass not Sea Bass!!!) it was lovely. She couldn't manage a desert but helped to clear my plate. I have to agree with a previous review when the reviewer commented that some background music wouldn't go a miss in the restaurant in the evening.

We stayed at The Bull for one night whilst attending a wedding in Burford. The hotel is quaint and retains its historic character and charm. The room wasn't the biggest (room 10) but the amenities were good (i.e. tea, coffee, water, wardrobe space etc) and clean. The service was very good and the staff very friendly - Matt in particular was exceptionally helpful and made us feel very welcome. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and was very impressed. The wine list was well stocked and the food really very good. The service couldn't be faulted either. The breakfast selection the next morning was good too - my only comment - some background music would have been a welcome addition to the restaurant which being small was very quiet and lacked a little bit of atmosphere.
