“Wonderful Family Day Out”
Reviewed December 2, 2013

The whole family visited the park on a sunny, cold Saturday. We'd been before so knew the best route to see all of the animals and attractions. We saw the penguins being fed at 3 O'clock, don't miss it and had a ride on the little train - great fun! we had lunch in the cafeteria - a good selection at a fair price. If the children need to let off a bit of steam, there's an excellent playground for them (and Dads!) If you're in the area don't miss a visit.

“Cotswold Wildlife Park on a winters day”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Visited today (Sunday 1st December) a dry but damn cold day out in Wiltshire
Aided and abetted by two small grandchildren (Archie 2.5 and his brother Dylan 8 months)
Easy to find as well signposted. Just north east of Swindon

First win was the admission policy - children under three are free So only 2x winter adult £14 to get us all in.

The tarmac car park contained less than 40 cars - though in summer I imagine the grass overspill is also full - but not today.
In we go - lots of big animals to see including rhino, giraffe, camel, lion, leopard, wolf etc but also all the usual smaller suspects - monkeys, lemur, meerkat, red panda.
All in all a fine collection of beasts, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Two cups tea (at £1.40 each in the restaurant) to warm us up, and some goo for Dylan
(microwaves available) and then off again
Childrens petting park with some very tame goats was great fun - especially when you are only 2.5 years old.
Went to see the penguins being feed at 3pm - unexpectably saw the crocodiles being fed just before. All great fun
An excellent day out, it would be busier but even more fun especially with a picnic in summer.
After 4 hours we still had not seen it all (money burn rate at only £7/hr for 4 of us was good value)
Small gripes - starting with in my view the most serious. The inverted "L" wire support posts that run past the rhino enclosure are at the right height to catch a small child and largely invisible pls pls pls - buy some tennis balls and stick them on the ends or replace the posts with vertical support posts - which can still be the same distance out but would not catch the unwary.
Baby changing facility cold and sparse - maybe supply a changing mat as its cold on that worktop when you have no trousers on.
On a winters day the provision of a warm area for picnics would be lovely (as at Whipsnade) and better internal signage.
But none of the above detracts from a grand day out

“Excellent day out!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I took our baby son here a few days ago and was so impressed! We had never been to this zoo before but I've got to say it was one of the best I had ever been to (and I've been to a lot!). It had animals there I hadn't seen in any other zoo and the walk around the park itself was beautifully designed. You really do get closer to the animals in this park and the enclosures are immaculate. Wonderful day out and can't wait to return!

“A great place to take the kids loved it”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

We went here a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. We went again today and completely loved it. The whole park is beautifully presented, you can get really close to animals like the otters, penguins and meerkats. The new giraffe house (you walk up a ramp so are at head height with them is inspired. The kids loved seeing the baby Rhino. The large cafe was busy, but we could still get a seat, and the food was good. Whipsnade zoo is 15 minutes from our house but would rather drive an hour and a half to this place. We had a really really good day out and it isnt that expensive either, given what is on show.

“The "Spicer" review”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

What an absolutely wonderful place for adults and children alike. The extensive range of birds, reptiles, insects and animals will hold any ones interest. It is superbly well laid out with pathways and lots of informative signs and directions. This has got to be at the top of the "Wildlife Parks" list and a must to see. On our visit, the large café/restaurant had minimal to offer as a swarm of locusts (school children) had left very little. We were still able to acquire adequate provisions and quench our thirst.
