Description: Bistrot Pierre’s ‘raison d’être’ is great value French cooking and seasonal menus. We like to combine French bistrot classics such as steak-frites, boeuf bourguignon and tarte au citron with our own take on regional favourites like tarte flambée, Bouillabaisse and paté de campagne. Our relaxed and friendly bistrot is the place to go for any occasion. Our Nottingham bistrot was the first to open its doors in 1994 and is located on Milton Street, right in the heart of the city centre. Open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner we have something for everyone, from the two-course prix-fixe lunch for £10.95 and a two-course pre-theatre menu for £14.95 to the sumptuous a la carte menu, and for those with little time we now also offer a one-course lunch menu for just £9.50. Wander through our distinctive French wine list too, with over 20 French wines sold by the glass you will discover something exquisite to drink with your meal. For something a little special we also host a range of events at the bistrot. Join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month for our Soireé Gastronomique, a six-course set menu with hearty provincial cooking. This is outstanding value priced at £22.95 per person. In addition, we also offer a special Dine with Wine evening where each course comes with a glass of specially chosen wine. This takes place on the first and third Wednesday of every month, so join us for a delicious two or three course set dinner menu for £22.95/£27.95 per person. We want to make sure there is something for everyone on our menus, whatever your dietary requirements. That’s why you’ll find plenty of delicious gluten-free dishes as well as a child-friendly menu on offer to help make your experience in our restaurant as easy and enjoyable as possible. If you love what we do and are looking for the perfect present, give the gift of French dining and order our gift vouchers online.

Took the family including two children of 5 & 6, had a really good time and excellent food, service very good, only downside the bill was wrong by about £30 in their favour which was rectified when mistake was spotted by my wife(I would have paid it) which makes you wonder if it was a mistake or did they try it on?
But to conclude we all had a great evening

I've eaten a pre-theatre meal here some years ago and returned for lunch. Two courses for £10.95 seemed pretty good but the quality and portion size made the value exceptional. A good sized pot of mackerel pate with sourdough toast and salad was a good starter, while the braised beef was enormous and delicious. It was served with an individual pan of roast potatoes and a dish of fresh vegetables. This could have been charged at £15 as a main in a gastropub and still seemed great value.
Service and ambiance were excellent throughout. With drinks, a bill of under £30 for two was outstanding.

As we left, there was a queue ten deep to get in on a January Tuesday. It is due to re-open in February after a revamp.

Unreservedly recommended.

City Centre?...absolutely.
Fast Food?.....pretty quick.
Cheap?..........excellent value.
Bistro Perre continues to excell. They have been very busy in the pre-Christmas period and although full, the food continues to be top quality.
I hope that after the planned extension we won't have to wait for lunchtime tables!

Have visited before and found this restaurant to be excellent but when I took my husband for his first visit found it a little disappointing compared to previous visits.
Pros, lovely big fresh olives, nicely cooked veg.
Cons : Duck a little cold and sauce quite bland. did not complain as didn't want to spoil my husband's meal.

staff friendly but seemed a little rushed at times
Hope this was a blip

We often use this restaurant because of its consistently good quality food at an acceptable price The pre-theatre menu is particularly good value but you would be advised to book in advance; another sign of its popularity.
