Enjoyed an excellent Thai meal here with a colleague. We ordered a wide variety of dishes including soup, appetisers and main course items. Everything we had was freshly prepared from good ingredients. Highlights were; the Lab Gai "salad" which actually is spicy minced chicken with mint, coriander and dried chilli with little sauce and no "salad"; sea bass with ginger which seemed to be two large fillets with no bones with fresh ginger. The Tom Kha Gai soup was mostly coconut milk and lacked a little spice or distinct flavours. The house wine and Thai beers were both good.
The restaurant was quiet and the owner chatted with us about his home country etc.
Both myself and my colleague are Thai fans and have eaten at Thai restaurants all over, including Thailand. The food served at Royal Thai is very authentic and is as good as the best we have tried. We did order several dishes and drinks and the bill for two was quite high at £93 including a tip.
