Description: Rocket at Saltwater Bar and Restaurant is a unique eating and drinking environment in a truly stunning space over looking the roof tops of Nottingham. Rocket Restaurants and Bars, renowned in London for its quirky, individual style as demonstrated in its’ top quality fusion food and interior design, has launched an exciting new venture at the original Saltwater Bar and Terrace in the Cornerhouse, Foreman Street. Rocket at Saltwater blends the fabulous Rocket food and drinks range, the individual interior design style, with the existing and much loved late night bar element of Saltwater. This new concept will offer outstanding food at great value prices, a top quality bar featuring cocktail, wide range of wines by the glass and bottle, alongside carefully selected beers and spirits. The Terrace has been totally refurbished and restored to its former glory, destined to be one of the hottest al fresco dinning and drinking venues in Nottingham this summer.

Rocket who have taken over this place have done a great job on the menu. We had a fantastic meat platter for 2 which included a selection of dim sum and tempura style modern food with delicious dips. the service was good, friendly but not over-bearing. We sat in the 1st bar which has very sociable booth seating. Overall a nice experience and we'll be back.

Myself and 7 friends ate here to celebrate a birthday. It was truly dreadful. It took 30 minutes to be asked if we would like a drink and an hour before the starters came. The main courses were awful, two of us had pizzas which were undercooked and swimming in cheese and oil. Out of 8 main courses, 3 were sent back and 2 were uneaten. I seriously think that this place is focusing all it's attention on being a bar and the restaturant is just a side line. Frankly, the food that was placed before us was insulting. Saltwater restaurant used to be a good venue, Rocket has reduced it to a 4th rate place. Seriously disappointing and we will not be going back.

Rocket has ruined Saltwater.

On the second floor of the Cornerhouse building opposite the Theatre Royal complex, Saltwater and its rooftop bar used to be a smart stylish place with attractive decor and a generally very good grown-up menu, not cheap (but not exorbitant) - a lovely place to go for a pre-theatre/concert, great location and good quality. Now that it has been taken over by the London-based Rocket group its menu is two-thirds pizza. And within 200 yards are at least two very nice pizza places, and probably more that I do not know. I suppose choice of venue (but not of menu) has been extended for real pizzaristas but I am really sad at the loss.

Went with a few friends a couple of weeks ago and was extremely impressed with the food, we all had different starters and mains not one of us was disappointed. We had some lovely cocktails and wine to accompany the meal. The service was excellent and all the staff were extremely attentive.

We came in for a snack after seeing an appalling exhibition at the Castle. I was not expecting too much from the food as we had had one bad and one mediocre meal in the past but still with good drinks and atmosphere. Now it has changed hands again and there has been a great improvement in the food.
Our party was only going to have some table nibbles but we ended up having a big shared meal which was excellent. Unsurpassed chips, tasty and very tasty and tomatoey pizza and a beef dish to die for which will be my order next time.
The decor is imaginative and I love the back of the bar made from drawer fronts. The seating is so comfortable with raised booths and there was such a buzzing atmosphere. This was helped by a superb DJ set by Neil Quinn. Really enjoyable music and not too loud, am I getting too old saying things like this?
The only slight downside was that the service was a little unimpressive and sharp. The waitresses wouldn't last too in the USA, they wouldn't get many tips to make up their wages. I think over here in the UK people are stingy with tipping and service is often overlooked. The food and atmosphere was so good that I am still giving 5 out of 5.
The bill was not the cheapest but really reasonable, high profile places like this are so often overpriced but not here, smart move I think given how busy it was.
Go here, if you did not like it in the past then go again and perhaps the staff will get a little training in proper service if the proprietors read this, then it will be perfect! One of the best nights out in ages.
