Lovely lunch on horrible winter Saturday. Sat by open fire for prelunch drinks. Cocktails were inventive and delicious. We all chose from set menu and sat in front small traditional dining room which was cool until they put on supplementary heaters. Good without remarkable service. Choice of two starters, two mains. All delicious. They upsold us fabulous chips and the slimmest green beans which were dressed with a shallot vinaigrette. We all enjoyed the food. My fish was served with a coconut cream sauce and ( what was called on the menu) rice cakes. I hadnot tried rice cooked like this before. Lovely texture and went so well within the fish.
Our last visit to this restaurant was a couple of years ago and we vowed not to return. However, it just shows you need to give things a second chance. I recommend it now after this visit.

My all time favourite night out. The seville champagne cocktails are worth a visit on their own. The NYE menu was a delight, too much in fact, but as we were not rushed through the courses we had time to digest. First class attentive and friendly but unobtrusive service, great atmosphere, and added treat was the castle fireworks with in house piper at midnight.

World Service is usually listed in the top 10 restaurants in Nottingham. It has a modern, crisp interior. It's often a place people go for special meals or business. I've always found the food and service to be exceptional, although on occasion colleagues / friends and said it's been good rather than superb.

Couldn't get a table at Sat Bains so chose this restaurant based on solid reviews from Trip Advisor and Toptable and we weren't disappointed. Very hard to find, you enter via an 18th century courtyard into a true mix of old and new. Front of house management is excellent - you're shown to a seat in the bar area where they bring you the menus whilst you peruse. Do NOT go here if you're in a hurry - it's a languorous, drawn out affair marred solely by the speed - or lack thereof - of the service. You have a choice of dining area - we sat upstairs in the main restaurant which is modern and comfortable - the downstairs restaurant was positively Baroque and French Revolution!! Personally - much prefer where we were. The standard of service is high - once you're served!! The menu is modern British and pleasantly eclectic - all beautifully presented. The cuisine is easily deserving of a Michelin Star - we had quail, scallops, terrine and squid and they were all superb, the scallops with truffle risotto especially so. For mains, duck and pheasant were the choices and whilst I thought the pheasant edged it, you'd be happy with both. Desserts were outstanding - especially the chocolate fondant with green tea ice cream; obviously stolen from Nobu's repertoire but very well done! The wine list was superb - a huge, Global selection of well-thought out wines at very reasonable prices. It was only spoiled - just a little - by the service. It took 25 minutes to get a pre-dinner drink, an hour before we sat at our table. We cancelled our after-dinner ports as, after 30 minutes, they hadn't arrived and we gave up! For all the negativity - it's truly excellent and depending on what you drink, fine value. We spent £100 a head with 3 mighty fine bottles of wine between 4 and I think that was great value. Highly recommended!

Visited this restaurant for my husband's 50th Birthday last week.

Having held a work celebration here a few years ago, we were keen to splash out and return for a truly memorable evening which was not what we experienced.

Ths staff were friendly and attentive though they could not find our booking. We ordered cocktails before the meal and frankly my mojito could have been better. It certainly was not minty enough for my taste. The food was fairly good, but i was rather put off by being offered a goats cheese amuse-bouche which I cannot eat. The starter of scallops was good and the assiette of dessets for two was delicious, especially the butterscotch sorbet. However both the main courses failed to impress especially the duck with chicory which was fatty and chewy, my husband ordered bouillabaise which turned out to be a pice of bream with a bit of tomato.
sauce and a few clams and mussels, not what he had been expecting at all!

There was little atmosphere in the place and the dining room decor/furniture made it feel like a canteen. All in all not worth the money we paid and not much of a celebration
