Owner description: Wollaton Hall is one of the country's finest Grade One listed Elizabethan mansions, set within 500 acres of beautiful parkland. Experience stunning architecture, exhibitions, a packed events program and an array of wildlife. Go behind the scenes on a variety of guided tours available throughout the year and on demand for groups. Other special events include costumed tours, puppet shows, craft fairs, Segway tours and our popular spooky Ghost Nights (not for the faint hearted!). Visit the Cafe in the Courtyard for light refreshments including freshly ground coffee, specialty teas and home made cakes.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and it was pleasantly busy. There was a special event on for Halloween and that was a nice extra. The house, museum and gardens were lovely and the deer were very cute. Would recommend this for all ages - lots to do in good weather and in bad and for families it is great that it is possible to do the whole trip for free if you bring a picnic.

We used the cafe as well as buying snacks from the market stalls It was hard to find out how to get into the carparks from the road which is the only improvement I'd suggest.

Great place for a free family day out, our children really enjoyed the museum and the free back packs were brilliant for keeping them entertained. They liked looking at the animals. The grounds are lovely, especially with all the deer roaming about. Cafe is ok for a light lunch.

Deer in the park, house was amazing piece of historical architecture, kids loved the animal collection, then played hide and seek out in the gardens. Parking seemed a bit steep, but remember that the place itself is completely free, so cannot complain about that.

The deer park is a wide open expenses. Plenty of short (less than two miles) walks. House is a museum and aimed at kids. Art space and old machinery barn(paid for) are worth a look too.
