“Brillant in winter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2012

My friend and I went there in the winter holiday when there were snows. Simply playing with snow, skiing and watching the lovely deers occupy the whole day.

“A popular place for children”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

We take our grandchildren in to the Hall where there are lots of hands-on activities for them, and around the gardens and the lake. They even ASK to go there when they visit now.

“different things at different times of year”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

to qualify the title:- after snow the place is buzzing with sledges etc, if the weather is good a walk around trhe lake and /or gardens is so peaceful-you wouldn't believe the scope of birdlife which you may encounter, BRING THE CAMERA AND THE BINOS. if the weather is naff, try the main hall- a bit of alsorts . it isn't jusyt a collection of stuffed animals, it really is educational, and I don't mean just for kids.
check before going on the website 'cos in the industrial museum over at the stables they have a steam engine which is only fired up on certain days. the industrial museum is a treasure trove-ever wondered how the old fashioned telephine exchange works? you can try it and see. DOGS SHOULD BE ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES. IT IS A DEER PARK AND THERE ARE SIGNS ON DISPLAY. I HAVE SEEN A DOG SHOT BECAUSE IT WAS WORRYING THE DEER (EVEN THOUGH THE OWNER THOUGHT IT WAS PLAYING WTH THEM!)
