This is a great pub set into the side of a cliff. Definitely worth a visit and even better in summer when you can sit outside. Beware of the fertility chair though... ;-)

Calling all cave men and cave women. This is Nottingham's premier celebrity cave-dwelling eatery. Having booked a table for New Year's Eve we were shown to a magical little spot in the depths of Ye Olde Trip where we were treated like royalty all evening, no request too big or too small and our every need met by the excellent staff. Generous portions and Excellent Real Ales added to the charm of the place. Highly recommended for dining, drinking and an enjoyable and entertaining experience.

Some friends of ours have never been to this place EVER......... despite living not far away....... Anyway, we went to Nottingham for a few beers and had our lunch in Ye Olde Trip. We've been many times before but not our friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is steeped in history and the interior definintely reflects this. As soon as you walk in you are basically in a cave which is fitted with chairs and a leather sofa. We all had the steak and ale pie for lunch which was beautiful. To say its a tourist attraction, the prices are reasonable and not over priced at all. They do have outdoor seating aswell which is lovely in the summer. If you're in Nottingham, why not pay a trip, you won't be disappointed.

Not sure about their claim to being the oldest pub in England, but it is well worth visiting just for sitting inside the cave that the rest of the building is built around. Great historical anecdotes and good pub grub!

Couldn't miss the chance to eat at the oldest pub in England. Very good sandwich and chips, and great selection of beer. But what sets this apart is the setting - truly unique.
