“Good food but not for vegetarians”
Reviewed August 12, 2014 via mobile

I've eaten here twice now. Both times, my meal has been very good, though a little overpriced. However this evening I went with a vegetarian and the choice of starter (for a vegetarian) was either tomato and basil soup or tomato and mozarella salad. Only vegetarian main course was sun dried tomato risotto. So you better like tomatoes if you're a vegetarian and go there.

“Good show poor meal”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

We booked to see one of the thriller season plays which was very good and thought it would be nice to have a meal in the restuarant there. We were the only two booked and were looked after very well but the food did not live upto expectations. We have been before and enjoyed it but last wed night the food was bland and boring for the price. We did mention this and they did take 10% off the bill but thats not what we wanted. Whilst we were there a couple came and asked if they could eat and were told that if not booked no!. There was only the two of us in!!!

“Classic theatre experience disappointing concert venue.”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

A beautiful theatre in Nottingham tastefully restored for the 21st century and sumptuously decorated in victorian splendour. The entrance hall and staircase lead to spacious areas before entering the lavish auditorium. Most of the seats afford a good view of the stage and leg room is reasonable ( the front row of the balcony should be avoided by long-legged visitors). Great shows throughout the year the theatre repertoire is more traditional than the playhouse; they dont go in for the avant-garde and so seem to attract audiences of all ages. New lift facility being installed summer 2014. Nearby car parking can be expensive. The concert hall is large and modern and frankly the tiering means that if you are more than halfway back in the auditorium it is difficult to focus on those on the stage. Booking fee on top of all ticket charges.

“Not thrilled with Thriller Season”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

Sat Row N and found sound poor (I am hard of hearing but did have hearing aid). Play was all right with a cast of jobbing actors, some with minimum experience, and not reflected in price. Seats were uncomfortable but this was probably due to their age. Would have second thoughts about returning.

“The Nutcracker, by The English Youth Ballet”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

Lovely, traditional theatre, seats were comfortable and views of stage/show were excellent. This production of The Nutcracker, by The English Youth Ballet was absolutely wonderful and extremely professional - all the young children involved put on an amasing and very enjoyable show. One thing to note - Parking next to the theatre is a little tricky, but there are car parks nearby.
