Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Discover the people, companies and industries that made Nottingham famous around the world. The museum has five galleries each relating to a key Nottingham industry: textiles, transport, communication, mining and steam. Through our collection, we encourage our visitors to investigate Nottingham’s rich industrial heritage. The museum boasts many wonderful artefacts and exhibits including a working Basford Beam engine and an original Thomas Humber Bicycle. The museum sits in the 17th-century stable block of Wollaton Hall. On the last Sunday of every month, we hold a working day where you can see a selection of our engines running.

“While you're visiting Wollaton Hall...”
Reviewed February 12, 2014

Its £2 entry, everyones friendly, exhibitions are well kept, whole place is clean, good information signs up, just a general good value for money. Only takes around half an hour to walk round, but they have some great exhibits. Might as well do Wollaton Hall, the park and the Industrial Museum in one go

“Good to see the history of Nottingham”
Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

I found this very interesting. There was telephones you could play with which was fun. I liked looking at the lace making machines, boots paraphinalia and the raleigh bikes. Especially seeing a trike very similar to what i had as a little girl. Would recommend this museum to people.

“A good cheap day out with the boys”
Reviewed August 10, 2013

Cheap entrance fee, took my 1 and 2 yr old boys, couldn't get the pushchair to one exhibition, but a keen volunteer kindly offered a hand and lifted the pushchair to it. Variety of exhibitions some interactive exhibits that.the children can play with. Eclectic mix but brilliantly displayed was really impressed and so were the children. Definitely going to go back on one of there 'steam' days. We also visited the park and the hall so you can have a full day there.
