The Premier inn is situated right opposite the University, the tram stop on the same side, this costs £2pp to the city or main tram station (train line) It is a busy area with bars and restaurants just over the road, 5 minutes walk. The premier inn is fairly quiet despite being opposite to the campus.
We arrived just after 3pm and the receptionist checked to see if our room was ready. The house keeper checked and said it was.
We were in room 227 on the second floor, not next to lifts and on one side no no next door neighbour. The room looked clean except they forgot to empty the waste bin in the bathroom, and the glass was left smeary on the mirrors. These are minor observations, nothing to really complain about. The TV worked, and there was a small open wardrobe with a few hangers, fine for a one night stay. Premier inn promote a good night sleep and indeed it is true, fabulous, and comfy pillows, very soft.
You will be required to bring your flannel/sponge, they do have a dispenser with imperial leather, although i found this hard to dispense, so took it apart. You have soap for face and hand washing, again a pump dispenser. Plenty of towels and extra pillows.
We faced the car park, so if you want quiet then this is a good choice, i would not have wanted to be Uni side, it was freshers week and well lets say they were having fun.
Outside you go if you are a smoker, ciggy bin supplied outside. After 11pm you use your key card to enter the building, and at all times use the card for your room door and also to activate the lift. Great idea, security is tight.
The only real noise we heard were guests walking up and down on any level in the hallways, it sounds like someone is coming through the ceiling, i thought it was the room above us, but its the corridor.
We had the full breakfast, all you can eat, great choice and if you are lucky, you may well get a greeting from Donna. Lovely lady, worked there for years. I left my purse on the table whilst getting breakfast, she told me to be careful as it was the goose fair lots of gypsies about. Plus we sat next to the door, so everyone in and out. I thanked her and went back to my seat. Donna is lovely, thoughtful, humorous and has a great work ethic, always asking if she could do anything. If you read this Managers of the Premier Inn, this lady is a credit to the hotel.
Our visit was to see the Illusionists, a 5 minutes walk from the Inn. Fantastic show that was. Hot water in the shower/bath, no problems.
Check out only seconds, i filled out an online survey. We will be back as it is the best centrally for everything, and trams do the loop so very convenient.
Thank you for a very nice stay
