“Good value - but bad beds!”
Reviewed August 6, 2010

This hotel was very good value, with a wide range of services in the room - iron etc, and the staff were all excellent. It's centrally located which is handy and they were happy to keep our bags for the day. However, both myself and my husband had a bad night's sleep and were in real pain the next morning - the beds seemed quite soft. If you're young and never have a problem sleeping anywhere it's a great place to stay, but if you have any back problems then beware.
It was good that you could get wireless internet in the room.

Thank you for taking the time out and sending in a review.

I am really happy to see you would recommend us as a place to stay and thanks for the positive comments.

I was sorry to read the bed wasn't up to our usually high standard.

At the moment the Housekeeper and myself are looking at replacing mattresses throughout the hotel, we usually go for a medium to hard style of mattress but are looking at ways of giving guests more choice.

Our Chamber maids regularly check and frequently turn the mattresses but as this is not done daily it sometimes cant be detected until a guest has checked in and subsequently laid on the bed.

Thank you once again for giving the hotel feedback and we hope to see you again soon.

Regards Jeremy

Centrally located with friendly and helpful staff, Days Hotel is worth considering if you're looking for cheap accommodation in central Nottingham. However, you really do know you're in a budget hotel, with the cheap TV, basic furnishings and awful beds. The mattresses were amongst the worst I've come across in any hotel, and the base of my bed had caved in. The staff did their best locating a replacement, but could only find a narrow, makeshift bed with folding legs that just about did the job but felt very unstable. Not the greatest night's sleep I've ever had.

Hi Pob and thank you for your review and comment's regarding the beds, Unfortunately it seems Housekeeping missed your broken bed base when checking the room, this is unacceptable and a will be speaking to the Head Housekeeper to see why this happened .

I can appreciate that the replacement bed was not to are usual standard & I’m sorry if it affected your sleep.

I hope you consider using the Days Hotel Nottingham in the future.

on trip with daughter to see universities. Hotel was basic and clean. Good position, right in the centre of town.
There is no parking at the hotel, you have to park in a car park 3/5 mins away. they do an overnight rate of £4 (if you park after 5pm and leave before 9am) otherwise you have to pay extra per hour.
we didnt use the hotel bar or restaurant.
beds were not that comfortable, can feel and hear the springs!
overall, would recommend for a cheap place to stay in the centre of town (right by the tram stop)

Stayed at the Days Inn, Nottingham for 1 night on the 6th March 2010 with my Husband. Travelled via train and was a 10 min walk from station. However you can catch a tram and get off at the Royal Centre (outside the Theatre Royale) Get off tram and walk 20 metres up up the street on your left and you have arrived!!.
Check in was easy and the staff were excellent. Polite, helpful and quick. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean and extremely large. The double bed was 6 ft (2 singles pushed together) and really comfortable. The bedding was clean and warm. There was a table and 2 chairs, an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee facilities, a tv and ample wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was clean and functionally with a decent shower. The towels were clean and large! Nice touch of hand soap and shower gel provided. You control the heating/air conditoning in your room which is good. We had a great nights sleep and were not woken by noise etc. The nighclub opposite that people have mentioned in previous reviews is now closed so will not bother anyone anymore!

We chose the Days Inn as we were attending a gig at Rock City and it looked pretty close. Well, it is right around the corner so couldn't be closer! There is also a decent kebab/pizza place on the next street down (Upper Parliment Street) for a late night snack :) And the Tap and Tumbler pub just up from The Days is cheap and popular with the pre Rock City crowd.

All in all a great hotel and a great price. Would reccommend for a short stay and everything is within easy walking distance. - already booked for End of May ! \m/

The reception staff were very rude at the check in. The room itself was very fine, nice decoration (but worn in places) and free network access. The hotel is in ideal location being close to the city center, public transportation options and tourist attractions.

A nice hotel room, good location but some rude reception staff.

Wasnt expecting too much from a hotel in Nottingham was expecting to be small and since i avoid going to hotels because of the cleanliness issues wasnt expecting them to be up to my expectations.Gladly i was pleasantly suprised got to hotel from train station which isnt far but for the 1 way system they have there.Up 1 small flight stairs with luggage to check in not bad. Hotel staff was friendly and courtious .Room clean and much larger than expected even had a big closet and shelves.Bed was 2 twins pushed together bed mattress was hard and thought was going to be uncomfortable my hubby has back problems but he didnt have 1 sleepless night neither did I. only trouble was with tv kept turning off when watching program which the reset the next day because no one on duty .slept like a baby or i could have been the sleep deprived from late nights early mornings visiting family. all in all would recommend and most likely visit again.fab location in middle of everything or very close to.
