“We are fully booked so don't have duvets!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

Checked in Monday 10th around 9.30pm two reception staff a nice guy and a lady telling two chinese girls we are fully booked so thats why you have only blankets we have no duvets!
Cannot express my thoughts on that first impression!
Supposed to be none smoking but bathrooms are rife with smell and corridors on 4th floor when I went to see a colleague asked for a quite room before booking got one facing main road extremely noisy would prefer one facing Crowne Plaza (maybe I will just stay there next time duvets and all)
Plus free internet/central location lacks service and carpets are tired dirty & quite outdated.

Nothing special. Just OK. I ended up here because the Lace Market was full. A bit drab but it'll do. Tired rooms. Breakfast OK. Not too noisy. Room was a good size, but that maybe because I had a loyalty card which gets you free upgrades.

We chose to stay at the Ramada as we were going to the Theatre Royal for a show and it is just a three minute walk from the hotel. We cannot praise the hotel staff enough. We arrived quite early to be greeted by a smiling receptionist who let us book in as there was a room ready. We were located on the fourth floor and did not haver any problems with noise which we had read about in previous reviews. We had to go to reception a couple of times for various reasons and were always greeted with politeness and a smile. We found the staff to be a credit to the Ramada group at all times. When we went for breakfast on the following morning we were welcomed by a really nice lady who told us that the buffet was not on and we could order our beakfast which would be cooked fresh for us. This turned out to be a real bonus as it was then served piping hot and was delicious. We must comment on the coffee which was one of the best tasting in any hotel we have used. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone. The reason we have dropped it one mark is because we found some of the decor to be a bit dated.

Room Tip: Go for a higher floor. Use the hotel parking if possible.

Ramada standard. No complaints about the hotel at all. Everything was more than satisfactory. Clean, well appointed room. Relaxed and friendly staff. Good breakfast bar. So happy days!
Two points to watch out for, though. The hotel car park is small and you are likely to find yourself a few blocks away in the multi-storey. They do provide discount vouchers at the desk but it's a bit of a nuisance especially if you're coming in late.
The other point is that while it's probably very quiet midweek, it's a club area. So the Saturday night was noisy from the club five floors below and across the street. Also the local council send the bin lorry through at 3am to clear up the debris. My husband who will sleep through armageddon didn't hear any of it. But I couldn't sleep at all.
So be warned! Great location for a Saturday night......but only if you're a clubber!
The Hotel itself was fine though.

Room Tip: Take your earplugs on a Saturday.

Nottingham has a large range of hotels to chose from, catering for all segments of the market, but the Ramada must be the only one to hide its light under a bushel. Hidden from sight this means its on a dead end road without through traffic, so none of the associated noise problems. Also not on the main pub and club drag, so again a bonus. This used to be named Days Hotel, also part of the Wyndham portfolio, but is now the Ramada. Those familiar with the Ramada brand may be surprised to find internally it's still kitted out in the same style as it's previous incarnation. This however is not a problem. Great air con in the bedrooms. Very friendly staff, especially at breakfast. In-room guide says breakfast is £8, but I was only charged £5, which to be honest is what it's worth.

Room Tip: Rooms x03 on each floor (e.g 403 benefit from having only part of one adjoining bedroom through the...

This was a impulse stay for us, as we needed to find somewhere to sleep for the night. How pleased we was to find this lovely hotel.

It's clean, has room service and the beds are huge!! You then can get a full English breakfast in their lovely conservatory. Or for a more healthy option you can have a choice of cereals, fruit and yoghurts.

The room prices are extremely competitive in today's market. The BIG sell for me was how close restaurants, theatres, movie theatres and shopping was. You can litterally go in a small circle to everything mentioned and end up back at the hotel. For a disabled person this is fantastic.

Only paid £64 for each of our twin rooms incl breakfast so didnt have high expectations. How wrong we were as on arrival we were able to park in the tiny secure hotel car park (must pre-book only being 11 spaces) & right from reception up to & into the bedrooms everything was spotlessly clean, polished & fresh smelling. Rooms have all the basic needs, reasonable size & good air-conditioning with the ability to open windows if you prefer. This was a friday evening & although being on 2nd floor were not disturbed by these referred to "hens & stags" & all night club dwellers. Only disturbance was a number of doors banging during the night as they returned to their hotel rooms. Breakfast was a good tasty hot typical English selection plus continental pastries, fruit & yogarts & again served in a clean modern relaxing restaurant. Would definitely stay again if the need arose, being right by the Royal Concert Hall which suited us perfectly.

Room Tip: A higher floor would give you a bit better view (although being city centre it obvoiusly wont be gre...
