Visited recently for family meal , 8 of us ate , inclusive of 3 children. Food is good, much better then in previous years ( pre refurb) I had the Stilton and mushroom pie but there didn't appear to be 'mushroom' for any Stilton (sorry!), so probably wouldn't have it again. Mixed grill looked good and was devoured by two hungry men in our party. Desserts are always good.
Service was good, friendly waitresses who worked well under pressure given it was a busy Friday evening. Kids menu doubles up as colouring in sheet and crayons are provided. There can be a waiting list if not pre booked, there is outside seating and children's play area ( for the warmer days/ nights)
All in all, it is a pleasant place to eat and has improved in recent years, and as a repeat visitor sure we'll be back again in the future.

I booked for a Valentine meal for two of us. When I rung the person that answered the phone was very helpful. Reading out the menu they had got for the special occasion, I inquired if there were any places available. The person said there was and what time would we like to eat.
We went on the night and was greeted immediately and said that our table was ready and we were shown to our table wear there was also a lovely fire blazing which gave the whole room a certain warmth though out. Our waitress Lucy was excellent throughout the evening we started off by ordering a bottle of wine while we looked at the menu which was a three coarse choice. I started off with Soup, then Steak which was excellent and finished up with a Vanilla Cheese Cake. Wife had Spicy Prawns, Cod Loin, and finished up with Luxury Chocolate Fondu and in her words was to die for. The whole evening was excellent we were looked after well done to Lucy and all the staff plus not forgetting the Chef.

While visiting a relative in Nottingham, we visited this pub for lunch. Unfortunately, as one of our party of four is a wheelchair user, we were given a table in the entrance. A constant stream of people flowed past our table with some standing alongside us as we ate, whilst they waited to be shown to their table. Very disconcerting and made conversation extremely difficult ! However, we chose from the very extensive menu and were served quite quickly considering how busy the place was. The food was decidedly average and expensive for what it was. Being a big fan of real ale, I can report that the IPA was pretty good. If I am in the area again I may possibly go back here but more for the beer rather than the food. The staff were kept very busy which would probably explain their lack of attention to detail.
