We went to this restaurant because some Punjabi friends recommended it. It was a saturday night, and the place was packed with football hooligans singing as loud as they could, of course totally out of tune. This persisted thorough out our meal. The food was certainly big on quantity but quality it is not. The daal makani turned out to be Tarka Dall and even when pointed out the staff insisted that it was the correct dish. Trying to teach a vegetarian about veggies. Not clever!!

Seriously if you want quality go to Anoki or Memsaab this place provides food in quantity only hence the popularity with hooligans!!

A lively venue, good atmosphere and a great place to eat with friends. Food is big on flavour. Hookah bar at the back seems to be a hit too.

Went with a group of friends, on a birthday meal the service was quick and efficient staff at the door with the menus showing us to our table drinks order asap, with quick ordering service the food was amazing fresh and hot tried all varieties of food from the grilled starters to the main course curries definitely the best in Nottingham. The atmosphere was great, vibrant and warm, felt very welcome in the restaurant always a waiter at hand when needed, will be going back with family as it is very welcoming, do recommend it others that love a warm welcoming Indian restaurant, Desi is definitely the place to eat!

Exceptionally good food in very basic and straightforward surroundings. The food is cheap, plentiful, and good. The place is clean and the staff are friendly. It is a place to eat well, perhaps not a place to take your wife to be on your first ever night out! However, the mixed grill is defo second date territory. £15 per head will get you a starter, main course and rice or bread. The portions are large and the staff are polite and accommodating. I went once and would go again but it's not a place I would put on my favourites list, its a little too basic. A once in a while place.

Desi is our regular spot for friends to catch up and put the word to rights over a good sized Cobra (or two) and a good curry. Service has been good and it is great value. We will continue to come back!
