Went to NOSH with husband and son for lunch on Sunday, and once again had a lovely meal - tasty, value for money, hot. Cannot be negative about anything. Also, it is so authentic, with the majority of patrons being Chinese (I think!) We were the only Caucasians there, and will certainly be returning when in Beeston again.

We have been to nosh several times now and have not been disappointed once. It's a no frills establishment but the food is fresh, in large portions, is served piping hot and delicious, not to mention excellent value for money. Among our favorites are the chairman Mao pork, salt and pepper squid, poached fish in chilli oil and the dragon aubergine which is a sight to behold and is absolutely delicious!

This place is frequented by Chinese families, students etc. It's nice to see the restaurant full and a large party enjoying a steam boat together.

Couldn't recommend it more if what your after is good quality, hearty food!

The entrance to this restaurant is a bit Alice in Wonderland - down a side alley to a repurposed large back room to a house. It feels like a genuine Chinese restaurant near a University, like many all over China. It is light and basic (UK market cafe style) with a view of the back of Beeston high street straight out of Coronation Street. Our food came quickly (restaurant half full - all Chinese) and didn't bore/stress out our kids (6, 8) which is a worry for us in most places we eat. I liked the Mao pork (My favourite dish while in China - so called because it was apparently also Chairman Mao's favourite dish) and our kids enjoyed theirs as well. Good price, nice food, quirky location, will visit again.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime with wife and two friends after we were let down by Bonito further down the High Road.
This little restaurant and takeaway is tucked away behind the shops on High Road in Beeston. Don't let the seemingly plain interior and obscure location put you off, though. Admittedly I have been in prettier restaurants, but the food is excellent in both quality, quantity and value.
Having seen the portion size, we just shared some little spring rolls for a starter. The mains were from the lunch menu, but the full one was available with some very authentic Chinese dishes for the adventurous, including pigs intestines and beef tendons.
We were a little more conservative in our mains, beef curry, prawn curry, beef & ginger. We were persuaded by the very nice waitress to try Chairman Mao's Pork as well. This turned out to be an unctuous concoction of belly pork with various spices and melted in the mouth. It was quite fatty, though, which whilst authentic (and in my opinion), delicious, did not suit everyone in the party.
The other mains were served in a large bowl with a portion of either egg fried, or steamed rice. Portion size was substantial, and we all left complaining to each other that we had eaten too much. All of the mains were either £4 or £5. Fantastic value.
Note: the restaurant does not have an alcohol license, but you are welcome to take your own. There was no charge for this.

We will be returning here soon!

top Chinese food. Very authentic. No frills tables and service but that's OK since the food is good and well-priced. Since it's all freshly made it can take 25 mins to cook so don't go in with hungry children who need food quick! Go in, order and relax and chat.
