Attraction details
Owner description: Perfectly located in the heart of the country, with excellent access to all major transport networks, Nottingham Greyhound Stadium is quite simply the home of greyhound racing in the East Midlands. The stadium is situated just two miles from the City Centre and only one mile from Nottingham Forest FC, Notts County FC and Trent Bridge Cricket Club at Colwick Park in the same complex as the horse racecourse. Car parking at the stadium is free. Nottingham Greyhound Stadium offers great entertainment at affordable prices for corporate hospitality, special occasions and everyone who wants to enjoy the thrill of live greyhound racing. The stadium has a top quality restaurant, three bars and a snack bar with plenty of viewing inside and out so customers can enjoy the thrill of live racing whatever the weather. A flutter costs as little as 50p so you don't have to be a millionaire to enjoy a night at the dogs. The track races every Monday, Friday and Saturday evening throughout the year.

“A night at the races”

What it says on the ticket, a good night out, bar, races, food available, taxis outside. It is a bit awkward to get to, but buses from Nottingham city centre do run by the top of the road.

“A reasonable evening out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

A reasonably priced evening out, adults £5 each and kids went free.
The snack bar food is acceptable for the price, overall a good evening out at little cost (if you controll the gambling monster in you).

“Good racing poor restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

Having visited many greyhound tracks over the years and dined in most of them we decided to visit Nottingham dogs on 10th of August for a birthday celebration.First impressions were good. This is a modern purpose made stadium with excellent track side viewing. One unusual feature is the paddock is visible from the viewing area and adds to the atmosphere seeing the dogs prepare leave and return from races. Facilities were good with plenty of tote windows and the usual bar facilities.Things were looking good so we made our way to the restaurant.Access was good with a lift if needed. Warm welcome with usual introduction to waitress and tote runner.View of track was slightly restricted but plenty of screens to view.Starters were just about adequate but not over impressive. Our party had different mains.I chose the braised beef which was quite nice.I can only speak on my meal but rest of party said main course was tepid and not of the quality expected for the price paid. The the vegetables arrived and our jaws dropped.A large Turin was placed on the table which contained new potatoes chips (enough for four) and a spoonful of mixed veg.(enough for one) We expected more veg. but none came. Overall the main course was of poor quality. The sweets were not bad but again not over impressive. We did not complain at the time because that would have caused extra delay and may have made the experience even worse. On a positive note the service was good and Carole (the tote runner) was first class. Overall the meal let down the night. I suggest that the management visit other tracks such as Sheffield or Yarmouth and check the restaurants they will find the mark that they need to reach. Our experience indicates that they may not be on the same sheet let alone comparable As stated we are regular users of greyhound tracks and would recommend Nottingham as a track but settle for snack bar and not the restaurant. It would be interesting to know if my experience is a one off or sadly a regular event

Since my last visit to this venue, there seems to have been a change of staff and they are a lot more friendly. We took my wife, my 9 year old son who has autism and my adult stepson and his girlfriend. We all had a laugh and a good time..I even found a winner for a change!!!
