“Right in the heart of nottingham”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

The oldest hotel in nottingham has been refurbished and is exceptionally clean and modern inside. Service was excellent and breakfast buffet had everything from fruit to the English fry up. Right in the heart of nottingham city centre and parking just a 2 minute walk away at the lace market at a discounted rate of £11for 24 hrs. Bus stop outside and tram stop round the corner. Would definitely stay here again.

We went to Nottingham for the night to go to Jongleurs comedy club so picked one this was nice and close. Not knowing the area meant it was a bit difficult to pick a hotel but in the end we went for this one and it was a good choice!
The location of the hotel was excellent. It was easy to find, in the Lace Market area and close to loads of brilliant bars and restaurants. We asked for a hotel room that was higher up to be quieter and we got one on the 4th floor. The room (423) wasn't huge but it was nice - glad we went for the bigger room for the case of £10, was worth it. The bed was nice, big and comfortable! The bathroom was clean and tidy and the shower was nice and hot.
There was no noise during the night and had a very good night's sleep.
All the staff were nice and friendly. Check in and out was nice and easy. Our original room wasn't ready when we got there (we were there early!) but they had another one on the same floor that was ready. Free Wifi was a nice extra too. Excellent hotel. Good location. Would recommend!

Excellent, centrally located hotel with customer focused staff make this a good bet for a stay in Nottingham. Superb local bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Rooms individual, clean and well specced.

This is a nice hotel and was ideal for the purposes of our trip. The only downside was that the evening menu was disappointing limited and the bar expensive. However there are plenty of bars/restaurants in the local area - we went to the cape which just across the road and was very good.

Also being an old building the floors in our rooms (303 and 304) were uneven which would be an issue for those less steady on their feet.

Nice hotel in city centre of Nottingham.Very comfortable bed.
Nice room but with a view of a wall. The only problem is the usual uk very small bathroom with no bidet.Quiet room in a quiet hotel.
The val parking service is useful but quite expensive.

Stayed in a suite, which was fantastic. Bedroom was large, and the bed very comfortable. Large wardrobe contained a safe and ironing board / iron. Large television offered freeview channels. Coffee machine and complimentary minibar containing water, fruit juice and Coca-Cola a nice perk of the privilege rooms. Small side-room contained another television and a nice sofa.
Bathroom was enormous, excellent shower and a separate bath. Wide range of amenities provided. Only complaint is that the bathroom was quite cold.
Everything was very clean and well presented. Suffered very little external noise, despite being located so close to so many bars and clubs. Earplugs were provided though, in-case the noise did bother you.
Staff were friendly, although check-out was a bit slow. Wi-Fi was free.
Didn’t use the restaurant or gym, so can’t comment on those.
Not sure I’d stay here in one of their tiny ‘city-pad’ rooms, but the larger privilege rooms are well worth staying in if you can get a fair price. Will definitely return if the price is right.

Stayed in a city pad for one night on a trip to Nottingham to see my son. The room wasn't big but I realised this when booking. However it had everything you needed and was very clean and comfortabe. Great location in the Lace Market as it is in easy walking distance of several good restaurants. Would definitely book again
