I almost live in hotels and my employer being based in Nottingham, I am there at least two nights per week. I have tried most hotels in Nottingham and had now settled on the mercure as my desired choice.
The rooms are very clean and as it is recently refurbished,in excellent condition. The beds are really comfy and the rooms well appointed with decent flat screen tv's and a nespresso machine.
The staff are uniform excellent, however I would like to single out Victor the night duty manager who simply cannot do enough for guests.
The breakfast selection is not varied, but of good quality - and nice to have a plated order rather than the normal corporate overheated mush! The chef does need a lesson on eggs benedict though - horrid. But the rest of the food is excellent with a nice selection of juices and continental items if you are in a rush.
The only downsides are:
At night - occasionally an issue getting in as it is locked and if the night duty manager is bust then you have to wait - there is no pager or access with your key!
Overall - I heartily recommend - it's a decent hotel and good value,More
- Free Parking
