“Interesting & quaint”
Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

Unexpectedly good trip. Helped by lovely weather and free entry/ garden party event. Museum really interesting. 4yr old really enjoyed using knitting machine to make sock! No good at all if mobility impaired or have buggy. Victorian cottages and workshops, small spaces and lots of steep stairs.

“Step Back in Time”

It was like being in another world. It has original frames and you can have hands on experience. Guides are well informed.

“The Ruddington Tardis”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

The cottages have everything except the families that would have lived in them at the time, a real insight into how crampt conditions would have been. In another cottage, house the frames for the knitters and some that you can actually try your hand at making socks on.

“A Gem in the Village”
Reviewed May 2, 2012

Hidden away in the village of Ruddington this excellent museum was a visit back in time. The machines are all insitu and the guide gave us all a great insight into this noising task. The manager's house was a delight and the small shop most interesting. Well worth a visit, but groups can pre-book to suit themselves.
