The Cottage was our base for attending a family wedding in nearby Southwell. It was also the perfect location for going to Nottingham, Newark & Grantham. Cosy & comfortable - my husband was really impressed with the leather sofa! Sitting in the garden room watching the wildlife was a joy. We can highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a well appointed property in a peaceful location.
Spent 17 days in this fantastic cottage. Top quality fittings throughout. Which other holiday rental could you have your meals on "Eternal Beau" china? Large garden enjoyed by our four small dogs when the pheasants were not around. This is without doubt the best holiday rental we have stayed in so are coming back in September. Handy for A1 and M1 we travelled near and far and came back to a very welcoming home. Five stars without a doubt.
This was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We had 5 adults and 2 young children and there was more than enough room for all. The owners kindly put in a lovely small bed for our 3 year old in the twin bedroom. The Cottage has everything you would need including a well appointed kitchen and a washing machine in a separate outhouse.
The 3 showers and toilets were a bonus for a large group. There is a large garden with lots of toys as well as goal posts and bikes which we really enjoyed. The garden was big enough for my daughter to learn to ride a bike. There is also a bbq with coals provided which we used one night. The area is a good place for exploring the East Midlands. We enjoyed Tuxford Windmill, Theymars Ice Cream and the visitors centre at Sherwood Forest all of which did good lunches. There are shops 3 miles away at Ollerton which also has a selection of take aways and restaurants. For those with kids the Cottage is 50yds from an excellent swing Park. We highly recommend this property and love to return in future.

We stayed for a week in May for a country music festival at Walesby. We were amazed at the contents and comfort of this luxurious cottage. Wendy and Richard are the perfect hosts and living next door is a bonus as always on hand to offer information and help. In previous self catering places one gets a phone number to call in case of difficulties and doesn't always answer a call. Walking into the cottage hallways to the left is a walkin shower room with toilet and wash basin, fitted with shower curtains to keep toilet area dry. From hall way into what is called the sun room containing table and chairs for 6 seating , three seater leather sofa ,two leather easy chairs, tv, wifi, units, and to call it a sun room is the perfect description as the garden facing Windows and doors fill the back wall facing a fabulous garden, well maintained by Richard . The views are really lovely. On the patio is table and chairs and more in storage under cover. Also a BBQ. Kitchen is fully equipped no need to take your favourite frying pan as my friend did, everything is there, it is well and truly "Home from Home' Bedrooms 3, sleeps 6. A double bed room,a twin room with ensuite, wardrobe, dresser and stool, chest of drawers. Fully equipped bathroom seeps rate toilet. The third bedroom is a lounge off the sunroom with double doors, 3 beautifully coloured sofas very comfortable one being a sofa bed, and I can vouch for its comfort, easy to handle, this cottage is fully fitted with bedding for all beds and hand towels, your only needs are your bath towels and clothes. I would rate this much more than the five star allowed. Lovely areas to visit, close to all shops and sightseeing places. Although I have mobility problems I did manage the stairs, and although everything is flat in and out of the building and around the stairs could be a problem to some with difficulties.

Stayed at The Cottage with my partner and our 18 month twins for a few nights in September when visiting family in the area. The cottage is probably the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. Beautifully presented, immaculately clean and child friendly. With 2 bedrooms upstairs and numerous bathrooms throughout this property was ideal for our family visit. The garden is large and the patio area allowed us to sit and watch the children play whilst relaxing in the late summer sunshine. I can't recommend this place enough. We will be back and soon!

Tucked away at the end of the village next door but one to the church is this exquisite cottage where we stayed for three nights. The attention to detail is fantastic . From the underfloor heating, log burner in the snug, leather sofa in sun lounge, John Lewis kitchen, lovely soft beds with luxury bed linen and a delightful cottage garden ( we could go on ) , make this cottage a fabulous retreat . We loved it.
