We completed a six mile stretch of the trail from Biggin to Tissington. There's good parking at Tissington and it was easy to catch a bus one way from there and walk back. The trail is well maintained and great for walkers and cyclists. A very enjoyable walk through beautiful countryside followed by coffee in the lovely village of Tissington.

First thing first. Don’t take your dog if it’s physically less able, in the dog carriages. Ours hated it and yowled for miles before I turned around and brought him back whilst the rest of the family went on. Having said that they all had a great time and the electric bikes opened up the trail for everyone especially the not so fit or sedentary types. You can’t tow your dog with the electric bikes by the way. Lots of help at the bike hire and the trail itself is great. Little cafe which does welcoming food and drink. Definitely recommend it. I’ll be going with a fit dog next time!

Fantastic bike ride from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay. Great facilities at both the beginning and end. £4.75 to park all day. Toilets, shop and bike hire available. Route is slightly uphill but picturesque. Quite busy but not too bad. Very much recommend.

A nice easy walk for as long or as short as you wish. a good half day to start at Ashbourne, 3 miles to Tissington, lunch, village view and return, or if really fit do the full 12 miles plus round trip. If adventurous try the cycle hire, my thought is start at Ashbourne and cycle up the full length and return with the constant slope with you as against you. Whilst i don't agree with Dr Beecham this old railway walk is well worth the time.

Ideal walk for those with dogs as it's not steep at all; its mostly away from roads so the dogs are safe to roam and we managed to park fine.
We walked to another car park on the way towards Ashbourne with a small cafe serving ice creams, tea and coffee and there were toilets here too.
There were a lot of cyclists so you do need to keep looking over your shoulder
