Stayed at Bolehill for the first time over New Year in Magpie. Warm welcome from Shirley, Chris and Blue and felt ourselves relax as soon as we stepped across the doorstep.

Lovely little cottage and some great walks and gorgeous countryside surrounding you. Highly recommend the Bulls Head at Monyash and The Stables at Monsal Head for great food and friendly service (& both genuinely dog friendly too).
There is wifi but it's incredibly slow - that might be a plus or a minus depending on your point of view! (a plus for me, a minus for my husband).
Overall we had a great time.

Hi Thank you for your review and glad you had a good time.

"There is wifi but it's incredibly slow .. " - I apologise for the poor performance you experienced with our free WiFi service. We only have a 10Mbps service dedicated for guest use so this may feel a bit slow if you are used to a faster service at home. Unfortunately this is about the fastest service available in our area although we are constantly reviewing alternative options.

If you are looking for jacuzzis gymnasiums and swimming pools, you won't find them at Bolehill Farm, if on the other hand you seek relaxation, peace and quiet, with a very warm welcome, then look no further. Bolehill Farm provides a perfect bolt hole for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle. Set well back from the nearest road, the only disturbance you are likely to get is the sound of the wind in the trees or the occasional owl hoot. The location is ideal for the attractions of Derbyshire and within a short distance of may good walks and of course is dog friendly, so the four footers are also welcome.

Just back from a short break in the Peak District. Booked "Honeysuckle" at Bolehill at the last minute. Owners said they'd prefer a small/medium dog but were happy for us to stay with our Irish Setter if we didn't mind being cosy! And we're very glad they did because it's a marvellous place. Just a couple of miles outside Bakewell, set on a very exposed spot with great views. Shirley & Chris were very welcoming (as were Smudge & Blue, their two lovely dogs). Accommodation was very comfortable with all you'd need for a short break at this time of the year and at a very reasonable price. Ideal for a visit to Chatsworth to see the Christmas decorations and for any number of walks in the area. We've stayed in other cottages in the Peak District but to be honest none have been as good as this so we shall use them again when we're in the area.

From my arrival at Bolehill, i was made to feel very welcome. I stayed in honeysuckle cottage with my border collie Jack who was also welcomed by Chris and Shirley. The accommodation was comfy and cosy and immaculately clean. The kitchen was well equiped and all appliances were in good working order. Plenty of hot water available. Snuggly duvet and comfy matress on the bed. Its so peaceful and is perfect for a 'get away from it all' break. I hope to visit again soon! 10/10.

A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed a short break (2nights) in Magpie in October 2013. Everything in the cottage was as you would expect and it was very clean. The best thing was the blissful peace and quiet. Very good location -we were spoilt for choice when trying to decide which walks to do in the area, and very well located for Bakewell too, where we cafe hopped on a wet day.
