Five of us ate here on Monday evening, it was our Daughters Birthday, We've been to Bouchon many times as the Food is always Fantastic and this visit was no exception. The service was again 1st class and we all had a wonderful meal, However...……….. I simply cannot understand how they can justify charging £8.40 for 3 small Diet Cokes and £6.40 for 2 Bottles of Still Water !.....£14.80 for Soft Drinks is simply Shocking ! ! Despite the price of the Drinks we will go back but simply just order Tap Water, I'm not mean by any stretch of the imagination but the prices of the Soft Drinks is CRAZY ! !

Booked online, thinking it would not be necessary. Arrived and it was full! Anywhere that can manage that on a Monday must be doing something right. The service was attentive, the food well cooked and presented and the wine list was presented in a very novel way. Looking forward to visiting again next time we're in the area.

4 well travelled guests were recommended Bouchon as a very special evening but were extremely disappointed. The food was superb, the wine well chosen, but an evening out at the North Easts finest, should be more than fine dining, it should be a great experience; this certainly was not. The service was at best dismissive and at worst rude... clearly we should have felt privileged to be there. Honest questions were answered with ridicule and disregard, making an uncomfortable atmosphere, so eventually we cut our losses and had puddings, coffees and drinks at the Beaumont. When the service charge in the bill was challenged for the lack of service it was answered in the same dismissive manner. Not somewhere I will recommend to any friends or clients.

Called here for lunch on a day out and although we got there only just before closing time at 2 o'clock we were made very welcome.
We really couldn't find fault with anything we had. The food, wine, the service, it was all perfect. As far as pricing goes we thought it was quite reasonable especially considering the quality of the food and drinks. It's definitely a restaurant we will visit again.

We ate here during a one night stopover in Hexham.

Having booked on-line we turned up early to check our booking was ok. It was, and we were ushered in. A table was found for us upstairs. The room decor is traditional, with heavy drapes at the windows. This might be the source of what some reviews have said about it being "formal". The staff were friendly and accurate - not at all formal.

Food was generally good, though my duck was a little overdone. The chocolate-orange fondant pudding was a delight. Well worth a visit for this alone.

There is, for me, the beer bugbear - small bottles of beer sold at too high a price. Don't do it.

Would we go back - yes.
