The helpful ladies in Hexham's Tourist Information Office pointed me towards this excellent bed & breakfast. Peter and Jan are lovely hosts. The other comments here are correct in reflecting that. The beautiful house is in a quiet position on the edge of town with easy access to the surrounding countryside and plentiful walks. My en-suite room was superb. Spacious, beautifully presented and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent in all respects. Only wish that I'd had the time to stay longer. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Four of us stayed here, and nothing was two much trouble for Peter and Jan. Although slightly dated bathrooms (these are all being replaced over the coming weeks and updated), the whole place without exception was extremely clean.
Bedlinen crisp and white, facilities superb, quiet location near lots of walks and close enough to walk into Hexham. Taxi rides costing only £4 to get to Hexham.
Jan gave my friends a lift to the bustop and even put newspaper in anothers boots to dry them in the boiler room overnight!!! Honestly who would do that these days without considering an extra charge....
The breaksfast was SUPERB, and we all would recommend you consider High Reins if planning a trip to Hexham.

We stayed at the High Reins for two nights on our 5 week trip to the UK and Ireland. From the moment we drove up to this gorgeous home in a quiet neighborhood close to the Hexham town center to meeting Peter, our host, to our beautiful and spacious room overlooking the yard and the hills beyond we wished we had the time to stay longer. The breakfasts in the lovely breakfast/sitting room were outstanding. All-in-all the High Reins in Hexham is the place to stay if your visiting Hadrian's Wall

Lovely Bed and Breakfast in a delightful area with very friendly, kind and attentive owners. Relaxing, charming and wonderful environment. Great place to catch up with friends for a girls weekend - fun times in the quaint towns of Hexham and Corbridge. Even a chance to have a night out in Newscastle!!!

Thanks for an awesome stay.

We arrived in the dark into Hexham so found High Reins a bit difficult to find but what a lovely surprise when we did. Peter showed us to our room and it was so large and roomy and clean and comfortable. Originally we were only staying one night but it was so nice we decided to spend an extra night especially since the bed was really very comfortable too. It was very charming in the breakfast room and the food was good too. The location was very quiet and peaceful. Wi-fi was available and Peter was happy for us to use the drying room.
