I previously visited the Farne Islands over 20 years ago when I was a teenager and returned recently with my partner. Little has changed with the trips, although the commentary is much improved (even if the history hasn't changed!).
Be wary of going in June/July as the Arctic Terns that nest there are seriously protective of their nests and will happily dive bomb your head with little warning. You can easily wave them away, but it does look like a scene from Hitchcock's 'The Birds' at times and younger visitors (and my partner) could find it terrifying. I thought it just added to my enjoyment of the trip!
